Question about Compaq iPAQ H3650 Pocket PC

1 Answer

Reversed image only number I see is "94 HIT AR B5" on the side of the plastic touch pad. I replaced it with a HP1023 touch panel. Only thing I replaced was the touch screen ( glass cover with sensative plastic cover that plugs into the board. It had a 4 wire ribon that can only plug in one way, so I am sure it is not reversed. The actual vision screen is still the original. I did not disconnect or remove that. R/Bill

Hi we keep getting anFi-7 message on the display . We have taken the cover off the back and checked all connections and even took off and put back on the ribbon connactors to the key pad and still no fix....

f7 normally indicates a faulty keypad and possibly the oven control/siplay control board
sometimes you can run your hand firmly over the button as one may be stuck .turn the power off at the breaker adn rub your hand over the touch pad... as yes the next thing would be disconnect ribbon cable and make sure it is securely fitted back in as it sounds like you have already done...
if that doesnt work then you will most likely require a new display/touch panel... a few places to try are
www.sears.com then on top of screen hit the parts direct link enter your complete model number and hit on the right side model number a parts diagram will come up and select the box that has your controls you can find out availability and price...

Touch pad doesn't work

Determine What's Wrong
laptop'smag-glass_10x10.gif touch pad basically provides the functionality of a mouse for a desktop PC, typically with two buttons located just below it acting as the left and right click buttons on a desktop computer. A touch pad may be damaged by excessive use or foreign substances such as water, dirt or food items.

Hit the "Windows" button on the keyboard and then use the right-left keys (or hit 'C') to open "Control Panel." From there, again use the right-left keys to get to "Mouse" and then hit "Return."

Use the right-left keys to toggle between the tabs and open each to investigate whether any boxes had been improperly clicked by accident that cause the touch pad to become unresponsive. But if any of these steps fail to remedy the problem, then the touch pad may need to be repaired or replaced.

Repairing/Replacing TouchpadA touch pad assembly cost $100 or more and that's not including replacement installation. Hiring a specialist to replace a damaged touch pad, including parts and labor, may easily cost $200. Unless the laptop in question is worth well over $1,000 and the touch pad is deemed a necessity, such repairs are rarely worth the cost.

Attempting to replace the touch pad without certain expertise in laptop assembly may be dangerous and/or destructive. Also, getting a replacement part that's not compatible with the laptop may have catastrophic results, including irreversible damage to the laptop.So just attach a mouse to it so you can work easily.Please rate me if this solution works for you

Thanks......Have a great time.

F7 Error on GE Profile electric oven. No response from keypad.

Hi,
The F7 error code on your oven indicates the touch pad has failed. To repair it, you will need to replace the touch pad which is listed as a control panel.
If you do the repair yourself, disconnect the power to the oven. Take the 3 screws out above the door that holds the control panel on to the oven. Pull the control panel out at the bottom and lift it up, then pull out the top and drop it down so you can see the back side of the control panel, and you will see a ribbon connector going from the touch pad to the electronic oven control (ERC).
There is a latch holding the ribbon connector to the ERC, raise the latch to release and pull the ribbon out of the ERC.
Replace the part and reverse these instructions to replace the control panel.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for using Fixya.

Sharp AR-M550 with a paper tray error F3-12

When I first arrive to any service call the first thing I look for is the service log.

Locate the service log on the rear,side or inside the front cover.

Check the last error code and corrective action.

=====
F3-12, Paper does not lift in the tray
=====

Identify how many lift tray is inside your machine.

Check each sensor(s) for smooth operation.

LOOK inside for crack plastic on the lift tray.

Sensor can be defective (non-operational) and no cutting off power to the motor and damage the motor,metal frame and plastic tray.

===========

Use a small METRO VACUUM with a clean bag,

Vac the interior of the unit,

Look for fragment of plastic tray or sensor arm inside the vacuum bag.

Pass the information to a Sharp authorize shop.

Oven having F11

Hello, F11 is definitely a key stuck failure and I didn't require any parts to fix this.
The cause of the problem is an over abundant use of double sided tape at the factory. I suspect that either heat or continued use of certain buttons causes the glue to weep into the button/contact pad causing the button to stick to the contact. On powering up our range showed PF and if you waited 10-15 secs without touching any keys F11 would display and and there was continuous beeping. I verified this was the case by removing the upper rear panel of the stove and disconnecting the keypad connector from the upper left of the lockout board. Then on powering up our range simply sat there showing PF. Of course you can't get past this with the keyboard disconnected anyway.
The fix--- to make repair easier I removed the glass panel to which the keypad is stuck from the range. Pull off the burner knobs and you will find plastic nuts holding the glass panel to the metal housing. Remove the plastic nuts (make sure you let the keyboard connector go first by pulling the connector lock -small tabs on either side of the keyboard ribbon - towards you about 1/8". The ribbon cable will then slide right out.) Use a razor blade to gently work your way around the plastic trim bezel and remove the bezel. The keypad actually consists of three plastic sheets sandwiched together. You only need to remove the top 2 layers. Layer 1 is the printed keypad and layer 2 is the contact pad.
You have to be careful in all this or you may crease or damage a panel. I started the edge with a razor blade and then stuck in the edge of a spatula. The idea is not to slide the spatula in but rather to insert it a small amount and lift. Slide it in a little more and lift. Just have a little patience and don't simply try and slide the spatula in or you may scrape the keypad and/or contact pad. While I suppose the more AR of us would then have to clean all the double sided tape off I simply cleaned up the keypads and matching contact pads. I stuck the whole thing back together and reattached the keyboard ribbon cable (hold it in place while pushing in the cable lock mentioned above. If you aren't too squeamish you can test the keypad while you have everything apart as follows: Connect the contact pad (this is the part with the ribbon cable attached) to the lockout board. Power up the stove. At PF touch one of the keypads to the stop/cancel contact pad. The PF should be cleared and you should be able to operate the oven by touching one of the keypads to appropriate contact pads.

Thanks
