Lift the rubber mat off the platter and notice the two large holes for your fingers to fit into. Simply lift the platter off the base by pulling.

Good day. I assume that you have lifted the platter off the table. On the inside of the platter you will notice a second ring, or rim. the belt should be put on the outside of the second rim while the platter is still in your hands. Next, slide back the platter and look for the spindle running the platter through one of the big holes in the platter. Slip the belt onto the spindle and turn with your hand to make sure it runs freely. Hope this helps

Why did it stop revolving?

The driving element, be it belt or rubber puck, may have failed. It's not an unusual failure in a turntable that is several years old and rarely used.

How do I remove platter?

If this turntable is typical of its type, first remove any clip which may hold the platter to the spindle (f there is no clip, ignore this step.

Using the finger holes in the platter, lift upon it. While holding it in the lifted position, gently tap the spindle with a soft-faced hammer.

Gramophone needle part not working on sanyo - turntable not revolving what could be the matter?

there may be a belt that drives the turntable ...you can look to see if there is a belt by gently pulling up on the platter..it should pop up and there may be a belt under there that turns the platter..if the belt is bad you may be able to obtain a new one at mcmelectronics.com

On my record player, the platter is wobbling as it spins and is off balance. what can be done to fix this

Remove the felt on the platter and lift the turning platter of the centre guide pin. Please note where the belt is running, because you will have to place that into the same possition as before. Check for any dirt or debries. Clean out and replace table and belt. Hope this helps

Turntable turns at variable rate

You will need to check your belt for wear. Lift felt on platter and check belt tension. It may need replacing. To replace, simply lift platter section of the unit, taking note of the belt position. replace and your problem will be solved

Bought an ion turntable (contour lp) and after playing a few records it just stopped mid way through playing a record and wont work anymore. its not the fuse. have you any idea what it could be??

If the turntable is a belt driven unit have you checked to see if the belt has slipped off from around the inside on the platter. Or maybe it could be snapped.
Put you ear to the turntable and switch it to play (you will have to pull the tone arm to where it would normally be to play an LP) listen for a faint noise of a motor running. If you can hear it, the drive belt could be the culprit.
I just checked and YES it is a belt drive. I'll bet my boots that's the problem. Pull the power plug and inspect the actual platter to see if it's removeable. You may have to rmove a circlip from the main drive shaft to remove the platter. To replace the belt. Slip it over the motor shaft and lay it in the bottom under where the platter sits. Then replace the plater and using two fingers pick up the belt and guide it onto the rim the inner rim under the platter and keep rotating the platter slowly until the complete belt is around that inner rim.

Things are now ready to go. If the belt continues to fall off it means it''s been stretched and you will require a replacement. Obviously for free if it's under warranty. Changing the belt yourself shouldn't void the warranty.

I need to remove platter on ttusb ion turntable to fix belt... it has slipped off... thanks in advance for your help

I do not know the particulars of your turntable, but in most units, you take off the rubber pad on the platter, and that will give you access to the metal dish, which has holes to gain access to the belt pulley. Slip off the belt, and then you will be able to pull up the metal dish. After you replace the belt, reverse the procedure. Just make sure that the belt is close to the pulley before you insert back the metal dish.

Turntable not turning - ribbon under turntable dislodged.

Sounds like your belt is shot. Go to www.mcmelectronic.com They have belts and belt kits which will solve your problem. To replace the belt remove the platter. May mean removing a circlip off the stem. Then lift the platter up, remove the bad belt and install the new belt. Generally the belt has to be reinstalled on the platter by holding it with a screwdriver while you turn the platter slowly and work the belt on. If I didn't already say, remove the rubber cover on the platter. It will reveal a hole in the platter where you need to do the alignment work. Let me know how you make out.

Ion turntable

1) Remove the platter - just lift up
2) Underneath the platter, you'll see a small lip section
3) Wrap the belt around this lip
4) Put platter back on turntable
5) Rotate platter until you see the motor shaft through the holes on the platter - a brass round looking piece
6) Pinch the belt around the motor shaft.
7) That's it.
