The first thing you should do is check to see that you have not blown the breakers it has a double breaker to allow for the 220 volts so make sure to trip both breakers, they will be side by side.look on the door panel of the breaker box to find the right one.If this doesn't work then you should check the lint trap and check to see that something is not blocking the exhaust hole. The only other thing is that the fan that blows the air in to it is not running. You will need to open it up to see if the fan is turning. These run on 220 volts so shut off the breaker and then unplug the machine before you attempt to take it apart. Good luck!

Roper electric dryer heats & tumbles but won't dry clothes

If your dryer IS still heating, but your clothes still won't dry, you may want to check the dryer interior cabinet and/or the entire exhaust ducting from where it exits your dryer to the point where it leaves your home to ensure you have no kinks or clogs. The following link explains many of the problems that can cause poor drying efficiency and longer dry times:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

Before assuming you have a problem with the appliance, check your installation to ensure you are providing the dryer with proper exhaust and air flow. A dryer in a clogged state or having improper air flow will not dry efficiently and will cause the heating circuits to actually overheat. Eventually, this can lead to component failures and is the source of many fire hazards. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

I have a Lady Kenmore electric dryer (40 years old maybe?), model 110 6508923, which I cleaned the vents, strong air, tumbles fine. The heating element glows orange for a few moments, then as it finally...

The element is supposed to cycle on and off thru out the drying cycle as not to burn clothes. Is it just taking too long to dry. If it is your exhaust from the wall behind the dryer to the outside is clogged somehow. I like to use a leaf blower stuck inside the exhaust behind the dryer and blow the whole line out to the outside of the home.

My Roper elictric dryer is not drying clothes

If you are experiencing longer dry times and/or poor drying efficiency, the following link can give you some tihings to check before assuming there is a malfunction with your dryer:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3578821-dryer_takes_too_long_to_dry

The number one cause of dryer heat related problems is poor exhaust ventilation. If not vented properly, a dryer will not dry efficiently, will take longer than required to dry, and will cause the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. The dryer will actually seem hotter as the heating circuits begin to overheat. This is also the source of many fire hazards if not resolved. Read through the link provided and review some of the potential causes. Hopefully, this may save you a service call. If you check everything and still have poor heating issues, please let me know. You may have an internal bias or hi-limit thermostat malfunctioning.

Dryer heats, tumbles clothes, blows air out exhause vent, but wont dry clothes

what type is this electric or gas? have you removed the exsaust from the wall and ran a load like this? if you have heat and this is an electric dryer it sounds like you have a blockage in your house. if the dryer runs fine without the exsaust attached then that is your problem. let me know

Maytag dryer model # SDE3606AWY HEATS UP TUMBLE clothes but does

There is most likely a lint obstruction somewhere in the exhaust. Start by checking the outside vent as often there is an animal screen on it that over time gets caked with stray lint. If that's clear then work backward and check the hose, etc until you either find something or get to the dryer itself. It's possible that in the internal exhaust tubes there's an obstruction as well so if you don't find anything in the external tube you will need to disassemble and have a look inside those internal exuast tubes/ports. If it's inside then do it soon as there's clearly a risk of fire if there's a wad of lint somewhere inside where it shouldn't be.

The mother of a friend at work had this issue - her clothes took HOURS to dry. Her animal screen had several inches thick layer of lint. Once that was removed the dryer dried like new.

CLOTHES DRYER (ELECTRIC) HAS HEAT AND TUMBLES BUT CLOTHES ARE NOT GETTING DRY.

DISCONNECT THE EXHAUST FROM THE BACK OF THE DRYER. RUN ONE LOAD OF LAUNDRY. IF THE LOAD DRIES O.K., THE EXHAUST DUCT IS RESTRICTED. CLEAN OUT THE DUCT WORK. IF IT IS FLEXIBLE MATERIAL, REPLACE WITH RIGID METAL DUCT WORK.
