I have the same problem. The lights on safety sensors are off. I've cut off the wire about 5 inches to the sensor and rewired directly to the box to test if the problem was with the wire, but still no lights. Should the lights (green and amber) always be solid ligthed? thanks

The problem is with your safety "eyes" on your system. I bet the lights on the opener click rapidly once in awhile as well. Make sure that both lights on safety "eyes" sensors are on (one of them is amber and the other is green). If not, check the wiring onto the opener - white wire should go to white and gray to gray. This system will not operate properly if it cannot sense the proper functioning of the safety "eyes" sensors.

Why Can't I add another remote to a merlin mt60p

If you purchase additional transmitters, the garage door
opener must be programmed to accept the new remote
code.
Program the Receiver to Match Additional Transmitter
Codes:
Using the orange "LEARN" Button:
1. Press and hold down the transmitter button you wish to
program to the opener. The orange LED will flash to
indiciate it is receiving signal from the transmitter.
2. Press and release the "LRN" button.
3. The sourtesy LEDs will flash once.
Ensure the door is clear of obstruction, then test the
transmitter.
Using the Motion Detecting Control Panel
(optional accessory):
1. Press and hold the button on the hand-held remote that
you wish to operate your garage door (1).
2. While holding the remote button, press and hold the
LIGHT button on the Motion Detecting Control Panel (2).
3. Continue holding both buttons while you press the push
bar on the Motion Detecting Control Panel (all three
buttons are held) (3).
4. Release buttons when the opener light flashes. It has
learned the code. If the light bulb is not installed, two
clicks will be heard (4).
Now the opener will operate when the transmitter push
button is pressed. If you release the transmitter push button
before the opener light flashes, the opener has not learned
the code.
To Erase all Transmitter Codes:
To deactivate any unwanted remote, first erase all codes:
Press and hold the orange "learn" button on opener until
the learn indicator light goes out (approximately 6 seconds).
All previous codes are now erased. Reprogram each remote or keyless entry you wish to learn.

Door goes down and when it stops at botton, it turns and goes back up ??? Need adjusting ..How can I adjust???

Adjust the position of the door by using the black and purple buttons. Black moves the door UP (open) and purple moves the door DOWN (close)
Setting the up position: 1. Press and hold the black button until the LED starts flashing slowly, then release. 2. Push and hold the black button until the door reaches the desired UP (open) position 3. Push the door control or programmed remote control. This sets the Up (open) position and begins closing the door. 4. Immediately when the door begins to close press and release the black or purple button. This will stop the door Setting the Down position: 5. Push and hold the purple button until the door reaches the desired DOWN (Closed) position. 6. Once the door is closed, If there appears to be too much pressure on the door, you may toggle the door back and forth using the black and purple buttons to reach the desired closed position. 7. Push the door control or programmed remote control. This sets the Down (closed) limit and the door should open.

The garage door will open with a single press of the button but will not close the same way. It will start to close - then reverse - unless I hold the botton down for the entire closing motion.

Check the door sensors. They must be pointed at one another and the small light on each one must be lit and not flickering. Tweak them if necessary. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have either bad sensors or the wiring to them.

My garage door won't close unless I hold the main button down in the garage. As soon as it closes it opens up again unless I press the button quickly. I can open it up using the remote, but cannot close it...

your garage door has saftey sensors at the door
these are photo eyes
in the owners manuel that came with the opener
that has pictures in it which would help
the photo eyes need to be clear of debri and aimed at each other with no obstruction
there are leds on each sensor and when aimes properly they should be light if i remember correctly
if you can not get them to light then you may have to replace the sensors

Liftmaster pro 1/2 hp wont shut in one button press

You have a door sensor problem. Either your main light bulb is burned out or you don't have one in your opener. The clicking sound you hear is the relay for the light. Both of the door sensors should have a small light that is lit. Tweak them until they are.
