"F22" is a door latch error. It can mean any of the following:

1. The door latch mechanism is broken. Inspect the door latch to ensure it is intact and not broken. Verify the electrical connections are making good contact.

2. The door latch hook (located on the door) is broken or worn. If the latch hook is damaged, it may not allow the door latch to engage and lock properly.

3. The interconnecting wiring between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the door latch are loose, broken, or not making good contact. The CCU is the main computer for the washer. You will need to remove the top panel of the washer in order to access. Simply remove the retaining screws located in the back of the washer and the panel will slide back, then lift off.

4. Defective CCU. The CCU controls nearly all the functions of the washer, including the door latch. If the CCU fails, the proper lock/unlock signals do not get sent to the latch mechanism.

Determing how to troubleshoot the CCU and Door Latch is in the technical data sheet included with your washer. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel directly below the door. If the tech sheet isn't behind the toe panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls. I do not have the procedure memorized, but there are some tests you can try to determine if the problem is the CCU or latch.

If you determine the latch needs replaced, the following link may assist you:

The procedures I provided are for Kenmore Elite series front loaders, which are the larger cousing to the HE2. The steps are nearly the same except for how to remove the door gasket from the front facing of the washer. The HE2 models are glued on instead of using a wire hoop (unless yours is a later model and has been modified). You can use a metal putty knife to carefully peel the gasket loose and reseal it when completed. A good appliance gasket cement (found at any appliance parts retailer) will work. You can also use a plumber's sealant. Just make sure you use a pliable rubber cement. Do not use super glue.

Some prefer to try to work through the top of the washer and avoid removing the gasket. This may be possible with the larger top loaders, but the smaller models are usually a bit more difficult to access.

Replacement parts can be purchased on line at any of the following websites:

If the machine agitates, you probably have a bad pump. This is pretty straightforward repair, and I'm sure I can help you if you think you can do this yourself. Follow this link to a previous explanation on cabinet removal and you will find the pump right in front of you when you get the cabinet off. The part is relatively inexpensive to obtain from a local appliance part store. Changing is very simple. Hope this helps you :)

Kenmore HE2 110.46502700 Front-Loading Automatic Washer. Where do I find a diagram please?

Question edited for clarity.

I presume you want a WIRING diagram? Not much available for that model. Sometimes you will find the service information in a bag taped behind the bottom kickplate or inside the back of the case.

I couldn't find the exact size using the model number provided... i would bet that it's a 3.5 - 4 cu.ft. model... My suggestion is to get something other than a GE washing machine... Go with a Kenmore, Whirlpool or Maytag

What is the capaity of 2005 Kenmore Elite Washer and Dryer, models 110?

Starting in early 2002, the capacity sizes were changed around a little bit. A normal sized washer now all have the same sized tubs (pretty much) in the 110 series (Whirlpool Manufactured) washers. The capacity is now rated somewhat by the agitator action the washer comes with. Depending on the type of agitator you have, will determine the capacity. King size capacity means you have a pretty good capacity (size wise) than others. You have normal capacity, large capacity, super capacity, king capacity, and I even think they have canyon (yes canyon) capacity. Capacity sizes dont really mean to much though. In order for you clothes to get clean, the must have room in the tub to move. The must be able to float up, then get pulled down by agitator action. That should determine the size of what goes in the washer. Always use same type clothing when doing laundry (i.e. towels with towels, sheets with sheets, etc, this will keep the load balanced better). Watch what you load, comforters are ok (per manufactures ok) but I do not tlike the idea unless its a front loader, and only by itself. Let me know if this helps you out any.

WHAT IS THE LOAD CAPCITY SIZE OF WASHER MODEL 110.20702990

On newer, and sometimes a little newer, Whirlpool and Kenmore (Kenmore is made by Whirlpool) considers a few things in determing capacity. Most of the inner baskets are the same size, but they also add in agitator action into the mix. A Kenmore with an auger top agitator would have higher capacity than a Kenmore with just a normal agitator, even though it has the same sized drum. So a super capacity washer would have theoretically less CLEANING CAPACITY than a super capacity plus. The agitator action is actually what determines capacity on these models. So, with that in mind, cubic load should be about the same on both units. Sorry that I had to go into "Bill Nye The Washer Guy" mode, but thats about the only way to describe. Let me know if I can confuse you any more haha. Seriously though, if you need further help or info, write back, and will try to get you some other information. Remember, this theory only works on top load "normal people" washers, not the front loaders.
