Right under where the electrical power cord winds on to the handle; well just under that if you grab the round part of the handle whereit goed down in to the machine , just squeez right there and that is the release for the extendable wand assembly. Squeeze and pull up and away from the body of the unit. I hope you can understand tis . Just squeeze right where I explained and you will find it . Good luck and dont forget to hit the yes button if this helps you. thanks again

the wand ? if the wand won't go back into the hose, sprinkle baby powder on it and see if that helps. The inside of Dyson hoses get sticky after a few years.

Kirby heritage 2 handle wont stay in the upright posision keeps falling backwards

Two things; your bag may be too full and needs replaced. (it doesn't take much to make them top-heavy) or the pin at the back of the base of the handle is not extended.

Hi there,

To reattach the wand and handle to the cleaner to resume floor vacuuming, just place the handle back onto the main cleaner body. The wand will then retract automatically down inside the hose - simply guide it back down through the handle until you hear an audible 'click'.

If this is not the problem you're referring to, I'd encourage you to contact us directly so we can determine exactly what issue you're experiencing, and provide the information and assistance you need. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

The handle attachment will not fully extend anymore. It will only extend about half way before it sticks. It feels as if it is binding somewhere in the hose along the handle.

Hi there, Sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. From what you've described, it sounds as if the hose may have been twisted the last time you replaced the wand on the cleaner. If you have any further questions about using or maintaining your Dyson cleaner, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly. One of our experts will be happy to run through some troubleshooting over the phone with you, and recommend the best course of action. You can call us free on 08002980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US). The handel is becoming wobbly where it connects to the vacuum. I am afraid it might break

Sadly it most likely will break. However, a temporary solution is not only easy and workable the down side is it's not that pretty. Just take a standard 3 foot wooden dowel (any hardware store) 1/4 inch in diameter and some duct tape. Put the dowel parallel to the handle and wrap the duct tape around both the handle and the dowel from top to bottom.

This has extended the life of ORECK's notoriously weak handles for years. Hope it helps.

Switch has power but wont click and stay on

My vacuum had this exact same problem, but was out of warranty because it was remanufactured. Thankfully, it's a very quick, five-minute fix.
  1. UNPLUG The Vacuum!
  2. Remove the cannister.
  3. Extend the handle and remove it.
  4. Remove the two torx (T-15) screws behind the power button, where the handle normally stows.
  5. There are four tabs holding the front plate containing the power button on; use your screwdriver to release them.
  6. Gently pull the front plate off.
  7. The switch on the right is the power button. Remove it, try clicking it a few times; if it sticks, great! Go ahead and reassemble, otherwise you'll need to replace the part.

Hoover Steamvac Agility won't pick up dirty water

Press the handle release kick-button with your foot, extend the handle all of the way back, and take a look at the gap between the base of the unit and the handle/reseviour assembly. You should see several black hoses attached to the base and running up into the handle assembly. One of them (the dirty water return hose) might be cracked. Turns out that might be a common problem with this model. We had the same problem.

Judging by the interference between the vacuum hose and the "dirty water return" hose, there is NO WAY those two hoses can exist together in that housing without causing the dirty water return hose can last for many full bends of the handle. We opted to not repair our unit, but you might be able to do it yourself for the cost of the part and several hours of your time. Otherwise, seek out your certified Hoover repair center for more info.

I need to reassemble my rainbow e series electrified hose handle

Yes, it is a ground wire. When you put it back together, make sure that the two halves of the hose handle are holding the wire up against the metal. I just had one apart the other day for the first time and if I recall correctly, the wire goes near the center for reassembly. Hope this helps!

Brush not working when the handle is reclined

Sonds like you have a problem with the self propel switch in the handle. Since you didn't provide a specific model number, I can only give you generic information on what might be the problem.. Here is a link for a hoover upright model ( may or may not be yours) but it does show the switch in the handle that does sound like your problem... http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/U6634900.pdf If you can provide a specific model, perhaps I can provide specific details on the repair.. Good Luck !
