Okay here's the fix.
Remove batteries. Re-install them wrong side in! Don't panic.
Reverse the direction of both the battery cells and install. Press "Power" button a couple of times and a few other buttons a few times. Then remove batteries and re-install the right side in.
Voila.

Testing remote control:
The remote control puts out IR (InfraRed) signal that human eyes cannot see, to find out if the remote is sending out the signal or not you just point the remote at the digital camera's Lens (Digital Camera can detect IR), you should see flashing light on the camera's screen when any one of the remote button is pushed. If you do see the flashing on the camera, then the problem is in the TV IR receiver or the main logic board; more troubleshooting with scope will be needed to look at the signals. I would get original from Viewsonic to get full functions. Look out for caps to go bad in your power supply also.

I have a Viewsonic N2060w-1M TV but I don't have a remote. How to I program a universal remote control - Jenses -to work with my Viewsonic?

For the remote codes, Viewsonic does not have any since the universal remote comes furnished with a code book from the "MAKER" of that Universal Remote. I have heard that the Philips TV brand codes for universal remotes work on quite a few series' of Viewsonic TV's, so try those from your code book.

Programming a universsal remote. My comcast remote never works with the TV. I'm frustrated. Been trying for almost 2 years no luck.

Buy an aftermarket universal remote such as a Harmony, they will control nearly anything. Don't wast your time with the comcast remote they are rubbish. I have a viewsonic TV as well and harmony had the codes.

Codes for viewsonic TV remote

Yes you can purchase the remote from Viewsonic Online Parts Store or I have seen them for sale at remotes.com and that 3rd party store gives a 1 yr. warranty unlike VS 90 day warranty on the remote. As for the remote codes, Viewsonic does not have any since the universal remote comes furnished with a code book from the "MAKER" of that Universal Remote. I have heard that the Philips TV brand codes for universal remotes work on quite a few series' of Viewsonic TV's, so try those from your code book.
