The FE-4000 lacks a loudspeaker. You can record sound on movie clips but you cannot hear it unless you play back after uploading the video to a host pc.

Check its headphone out for any sound. Check the cables going to the amplifier. Try another tape for the playback sound.

I can hear the myself in the headphones and it is recording but i cant hear the audio when i play it back.

Make sure you've adjusted the Mix knob correctly. The Mix knob is above the Output knob. Turning it counter-clockwise allows you to hear more of your input and turning it clockwise lets you hear more of your playback. Try adjusting the knob clockwise to get more of your playback feed.

Why is there no sound when I play my videos back on my camera and when I import them onto my computer. I cant hear anything

Hi,

This camera does not have a Mic - so it does not have capability to record or playback sound. It will record video but it will be completely mute on playback.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Record/playback

Run audio INTO the MD play in the L & R IN jacks.
For playback, run (RCA phono plug cables) from the L & R OUT to your amplifier AUX or TAPE inputs. Try playback working first, then add the record function.

I have the Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio. Normally when I record, auditions for voice over work, I have no problem listening to the playback. Tonight however, when I playback the audio it is so low you...

it sounds like your input levels might be low...which could be why you can barely hear what you've recorded and also why you're hearing so much noise after normalizing. check it out and give it a try!

Record, playback problem

Hi Nick,

The fuzz/white noise is a little confusing and it seems to be saying that you are recording something vs trying to record incorrectly and getting nothing at all. Anyway, despite that, I would try going over your recording steps first.

First off make sure your Hi-Z input is not set to the Hi-Z or guitar setting. It is possible your that MicroKorg is overloading the input and distorting. You should however have heard that in the headphones too, so I'm not so sure that's the problem. The next thing to check is to make sure your input is assigned to the track you expect to be recording on. (Press the input's button to check this. The select/record button over the track should flash).

Next make sure your track is armed for recording before you press 'play+record' (Record button above the track should light steady when recording).

Hope this helps.

I can't hear the recorded video!

At first, when you were not able to hear sound in playback on Camera LCD view, it was problem of Built-in Speaker defect. Now you can't hear sound on TV as well, it means Sound Processor IC is defective. You need to contact Sony Service Center for proper repair.

Static on my mbox system

Well it all depends on what program you are using to record your music you will need to activate the noise reduction filter. or lower the volume on your mic but not on the program. Therefore your mic will not pick up any noise in the background and you will still have the same music quality.
