Xbox 360 Dvd drive Eject

I know this has been spread across this site and there have been various fixes but mine is an odd one and i need some help.
What it is , when i turn the xbox on , the middle power button led flashes continuously as if the drive tray is open. Had the Xbox and drive in bits , ive tested with out the drive casing but the drive still wont shift , ive tried replacing the cables but still nothing , there isnt even a sound coming from the eject motor even thou on a bench test that works fine , im just wondering if the board to the drive is broke.

The guy i brought it from said he ripped out the dvd drive tray , but i replaced the drive mechanics and it still does the same thing , im just wondering if hes done a flash but it didnt work right.

i have a similar problem. it will either say on the dashboard that the tray is opening but will stay closed until you hit the eject button then the drive will open and close immediately or else teh tray will open and close on its own. only happens in the first half hour from start up after that its fine

Sounds to me like someone tried flashing the drive and failing or the drive has the wrong laser installed in it. Shoot me an email at boredmodifications@gmail.com and I can help you through it

What can i do when the tray of my xbox 360 does not want to open?

This is a common problem for the Xbox 360 and s usually caused by the dvd drive belt becoming old and weak. Try putting the xbox 360 horizontally and when you press the eject button press the drive slot and rub it upwards. This will help the belt to turn the eject mechanism and hopefully should eject for you.

Hope this helps

Xbox 360 - Stuck or sticking tray fix!

If your Xbox 360 DVD drive won’t eject it can be a very simple fix.

The Samsung drive is almost always a very simple fix, if you have another drive, it may be more difficult.

To identify your drive, follow this guide:

• Remove the faceplate by firmly grasping the opening for the USB ports and pulling.
• Underneath the DVD tray there should be a small hole.
• Look at the wires in the hole to identify which drive type you have.

Red and Black Wires = Samsung Drive
Yellow Wires = LiteOn Drive
White Wires = BenQ Drive
No Wires = Hitachi Drive

SAMSUNG:

It is very common for a Samsung drive to not eject. It’s a very simple fix for this!

1. Power on your Xbox 360
2. Press the eject button
3. When the Xbox 360 “tries” to eject, just simply push in on the tray cover.

That should make it eject!

If it does not, please follow the guide for the other drives below:

This requires you to disassemble your Xbox 360. IF you don’t know how, look it up on google, there are plenty of guides.

Then follow these steps:

1. Remove your Xbox 360 DVD drive from the Xbox 360
2. Turn over and remove the four screws securing the drive (6 screws if it’s a Hitachi)
3. Remove the top cover of the DVD drive.
4. Put the drive back in the Xbox 360, connect the wires, and power on your Xbox 360.
5. Once the 360 powers on, eject the drive. Most of the time it should eject normally. If it doesn’t you may have to force it.
6. Unplug the Xbox 360. If you turn it off with the power button the tray will close first, we need it open.
7. Near the front of the drive, you should now be able to see and access a small rubber band that was hidden by the tray.
8. Remove the band, lubricate and replace.
9. Replace the top cover and hook up and test.
10. If that doesn’t work, you may need a new rubber band. If you can get one of the right size, replace and test.

Xbox 360 DVD Drive ONE red light

The DVD drives are not interchangeable. Each one has a code that it matches with the motherboard when those numbers do not match they will show you the one red light which is known as a "general hardware failure".

You must do somehting called xbox 360 DVD Drive Spoofing. In order to cover this it is wayyyyyyy too much to type here. Here is a link that will help you.

Hi guys I found out why the disk wont read in my system anyway

Interesting. Not all Xbox 360s use the same type DVD drive. There are at least 3 different brands - Benq, Samsung, and Hatachi. There are various ways of determining this, besides opening the Xbox 360. Based on the drive type, there are different versions of firmware(the software on the drive that communicates with the Xbox 360). Some firmware modifications Microsoft doesn't want consumers to know because it allows the playing of cloned dvds.

My xbox 360 keep sayin play dvd

the x clamp fix is for heat issues...this is a dvd drive issue...you may need to replace your dvd drive...but you cant just swap them out...you have to transfer your original PCB board from your broken drive to the new drive or it WILL NOT WORK....the dvd drive and motherboard are paired by a key...the keys for both have to be the same...you need to find out which drive you have...the BenQ is a pain unless you know how to flash the drive to get the key and transfer it to the new one...otherwise it means a soldering iron and some tiny little wires and some patience...there are tutorials and changing dvd drives...just google it

Xbox 360

Some of the Xbox 360s have been known to have issues with their DVD-ROM Drives, On Older Xbox 360s The actual Drive has been known to cause slight scratching and scuffing to your Games and Movies.

If your Xbox 360 is having problems reading games, their is potentially a problem with the DVD Drives Laser, i had this issue last year with mine, Out of the blue the DVD Drive stopped working and wouldnt read Certain discs. The i would suggest Calling Up the Xbox Customer support Center for your Country (numbers Available on www.xbox.com/support) and explain your problem to the person on the end of the line.

The only solution is usually to return your Xbox to microsoft Free of charge, which will be either repaired/replaced and sent back to you.

Also, once the solution is solved, it is important to NOT leave Games/DVD's In the Xbox's drive when not in use, Especially when moving the Xbox around as this can knock the laser and cause a fault ! their is only ever a DVD in my xbox drive when it is in use, i take mine out all the time to help prevent these sorts of problems.

Hope This helps !?

Xbox 360

hello

First point is you need to extract the firmware from the old original (very important) drive which involves opening up the xbox 360. there are many guides online which show how to do this. Try www.360mods.com and select tutorials where there are nice video tutorials which you can pause and do at your own pace on almost anything xbox 360 related. To explain this in full detail here would take an eternity and i find that video tutorials work best. I know that I'm sending you to another site but trust me that site is a goldmine of information and well put together too.

Should mention that within thisa firmware lies the dvd key if you follow the video tutorials and successfully extract the dvd key then i suggest you make many copies of this key called (orig.bin) if you lose it then your xbox 360 £200 odd pound machine becomes a very expensive dvd player.
