Your camera most likely has a lens error, this is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!

Stuck lenses are probably the most common reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply become dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse then contact the Samsung service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed the cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose by trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault. Although the article mentions Canon a few times, the advice applies equally to all cameras with lens errors and is not model-specific.

If the link doesn't work then cut and paste the following address into your browser:-

Good luck, I hope you manage to use this information to fix your camera. Please take a moment to rate the free answer I have provided for you and any testimonial which you might wish to add is always welcome!

My Olympus Camedia C-750 will not turn on. When I start it, the screen looks normal but then goes blank. it stays lighted and then beeps several times then makes a noise like a picture has been taken,...

If those batteries are definitely good then the electronics of unit have gone haywire. Contact Olympus to see if there is some sort of hidden code to reset electronics to factory defaults.

Camera will not turn on. Tried several new batteries.

I had (and continue to have - from time to time) the same problem. Each time I replace the batteries and try to turn the camera on, it will not go. I have found a simple "fix" with my own camera: that is to flip the on/off switch several times rapidly, and then, you will eventually hear the beep indicating the unit has powered on. Not really sure why this works, but it is the only way I can get mine to work. It has been a persistent problem since I have owned it.

I try to turn on my Camedia C-730 Ultra Zoom camera and I just get several beeps and nothing happens. I tried new batteries and I also tried a direct connect power supply.

Based on what you report the camera would need to be serviced. Regretfully all parts, accessories and repair service have been discontinued due to the age of the camera.
You may refer to the yellow pages for local camera repair centers who may be able to offer parts and service on the camera.
As a loyal Olympus customer, the Customer Service Department is also available to discuss other options available to you.
They can be reached Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM until 7:00PM East Coast time, at: 1(800)622-6372 option 2 and then option 3

My camera wont turn on when i hit the button it beeps three timesa and shuts off

low battery or hardware error. three beeps-- that's important-- you can always call the company's 800 number and ask them what 3 beeps means.

Since I assume you tried new batteries, it sounds like hardware failure, especially if it was dropped. Try even newer batteries, or call the company to see if you're under warranty.

Daughter received camera as Christmas gift. Camera beeps three times and does nothing. I guess this camera is only good until the warranty runs out, 90 days. We have tried several new batteries and the expensive rechargeable type also. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!!

Camera will not stay on.....

the 3 beeping sound means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

A temporary fix to power up is to press the menu and power button at the same time. When the lens is extended and it beeps, on my camera , the lens is *stuck* Give it a gentle tug , then try the power button again

Camera turns on for three seconds, beeps three times, then stops.

It's the optical zoom. The motor that pushes it in and out died.
