Question about HP Photosmart C5280 Printer

1 Answer

My computer has suddenly started giving the message "USB Device Not Recognised" and in the Scanners and printers the Printer is listed as Off Line. I have tried to download and install new drivers from the HP Website, but I still get the USB Device Not Recognised. I have tried all three of my computers and all three give the same massage.

Hi. This is not a computer issue since you already tried using different computers. There might be a problem with the Device that you are trying to use. By the way, may i know the device that you are trying to use?

HI,

Is this the first time you connect your printer on that computer? This can be the USB port does not support a 2.0, or your data cable/printer cable is damage.

Hope this helps

Hi, I have an HP Lazerjet 1010 printer which i have been using for over 3 years with no problem at all. I tried to print something a few days ago and I suddenly got a 'USB cannot be recognised' message as...

Hi!

To resolve the issue 'USB cannot be recognised' you need to check the bios to make sure all USB ports are enabled. To enable the ports right click on ‘my computer’ and then click ‘properties’ and when the properties window opens, click on the ‘hardware’ tab at the top of the window. Now click on ‘device manager’. It should bring up a list of hardware on your system. Please check if any of them have a little exclamation mark next to them. If there is one by universal serial bus controllers, double click on it and select the driver tab then click update driver. It should automatically search for the drivers and install it.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Usb device not recognised HP 1005

Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

All in One Scanner/Printer problems

Go to this link and type "cannot communicate with scanner" in the search box. Click Search. Then select the "ERROR: Cannot communicate with scanner" link. You will see several things to try to correct your problem. Usually, this error shows up if there is another USB device connected which prevents the computer from "seeing" the scanner, even though it can print without problem. So do try to disconnect any other USB device (except mouse or keyboard) and reboot the system.
