BATTERY CHARGER STOPPED WORKING. MANUFACTURERS SAID WOULD BE 2 YEARS BEFORE SUPPLIES WOULD BE AVAILABLE.ANY ONE KNOW HOW TO FIX A CHARGER ??? OR MAKE ONE ?

You don't say which make and model number. Sometimes it is just the fuse inside, but be careful when changing it as when you turn it on again the PCB can go bang due to a fault on the board.

Makita Drill's battery is stuck on

IT IS THE DUST THAT IS CAUSING THE PROBLEM. YOU COULD TRY HOLDING THE LATCH BUTTON ON THE BATTERY AND THEN BANG THE BACK OF THE BATTERY AGAINST THE WORK SURFACE TO KNOCK IT OFF. CLEAN IT UP AND TRY A LIGHT SPRAY OF MR SHEEN. DUST WILL STICK TO ANY WET SURFACE SO NOT A LOT.

Lithium-ion battery will not charge, drill has not been used for a couple of months so placed on charge for most of yesterday, battery no life at all. Regards Chris

I think you've already come to this conclusion, so I'll affirm, you need a new battery.

Something that may be worth trying, if you haven't already, find something a little abrasive and try to really scrub the contacts on the drill, and in the charger, ( obviously you'll want to make sure the charger is unplugged.)

Good luck!

My 12 volt Ridgid drill just quit alltogether. I know it,s not the battery or charger as I have an identical drill and it works just fine. This drill takes the small cartridge type battery. Any...

Hi,
To start, I assume you took the "good" battery from the working drill and tested the inoperative drill.
Good for doing that.
The other causes I know of in Drills that turn them into paper weights are as follows:
1 Worn Brushed: You can attempt to test this by squeezing the assumed good trigger button and
Taping the drill or lightly banging it on a bench top or something else. If it is brushes, it will often but no necessarily all the time, start to run for a moment, or just running. Since you use the drill and "use it a lot" That will be the first thing I would look for.

2 Trigger Button.

I would bring it to a tool service place or send it back to Ridgid. Try this link

Hope this helps, Happy New Year

I have a 18v battery charger for my great neck drill but the red light insant lighting up when I go to charge my my battery, but the green one is lit up.

Try jump starting the battery. Li Ion batteries often have smart chargers if the battery gets to low the charger doesnt recognise it. If yo have a spare battery fully charge it ant then conect + to + and - to - with wire ( may take two people) kep them connected for 2 mins or so then try in the charger.
