Question about Maytag LSG7806A Front Load Stacked Washer / Dryer

2 Answers

Hi maytag lse7806gge in order to pass thru a door frame a smart tech removed the outer casing of the dryer which gave the additional 6 or 7 cm needed to clear the door frame this tech is nowhere to be found and i would like to find out how to remove the outer panels WITHOUT having to touch any of the mechanical or electrical systems - just the panels - i've seen a blow out but couldn't figure out anything beyond the 3 screws at the bottoms of the front panel any help thanks

    thanks but that's not it
it describes how to remove the tub - i don't want to touch any inner parts only the panels
    and possibly the top lid
i know for a fact that the machine WITHOUT THE PANELS is much narrower which will allow it to go thru the door frame - from side to side the washer is app 69 cm - door frame is 61
it did go thru before (without the top dryer)
so - front / side panels / and possibly the the top lid - all this without touching any systems either electrical or mechanical

Download this manual http://www.servicematters.com/maytag_library/docs/16000416.pdf

All the dryer information starts on page 57. There is nothing in the manual... (our bible) that mentions complete chassis removal.

The majority of the screws that have to be removed for outer chassis removal are in the back of the unit. Yes there are others in the front. Follow the chassis lip seam and remove the screws securing the seam only. It is difficult to explain because it is so rare that this has to be done. It is kind of I have to be there to do it things and just figure it out. I have done it less than a hand full of times in 40 + years of working on home appliances.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Maytag bravos dryer belt needs to be replaced

Check in the back and see if the belt has a wide span on it. If it does, it doesn't only go around the fan pulley but also the drum (Which is usually the case). THis being the case you need to look for and screws you can find on the dryer outer casing because you will need to remove the outer casing to get to the drum. If you look for screw on the upper part just inside the door many times the upper deck is on hinges and will tilt backward so you can view the top of the drum with the belt on it. Remember how it came apart; it goes back together in reverse manner. Once you usually find the belt tension pulley through the back of the dryer compartment, let the tension off the pulley and slide the belt off of it. Once you get the belt off put it back on just like the old one.

How do I remove the front panel?

Hello, maytag makes it very hard to get to the lint.

You need to first take off the door, then the outer frame. The door has 4 philips screws and the frame should have 4 also. Good luck :)

Baffles are loose on my dyer maytag neptune mde5500

Hi Nick, welcome to FixYa!

1. Open the door and remove the two screws that secure each of the door hinges to the dryer frame. With the door open so you can take a hold of it, simply pull the whole door out of the notches that the hinges fit into.
Next, remove the two screws on the opposite side of the frame where the door closes to. (along with the two white plastic trim pieces the screws go thru) Once the door is off and the screws are out, pull the entire front panel forward and then it will lift off the tabs at the bottom and you can set it aside.
next, look up near the top of the cabinet, on each side, for the metal hooks that secure the top to the cabinet. Remove the screw (5/16" nut driver) that secures each hook to the cabinet. Take the hook off, repeat for the other side.
Now you can lift up the top of the machine, and rotate the drum so that the loose baffle is at the top so you can work on the baffle easily. Rotate the drum to the next baffle, etc.

I hope you find this answer helpful.
