Your power amp wire (positive (RED) ), should be hooked up directly to your battery....THe ground wire should be anchored to a bolt in your trunk (the short the distance the better), Make sure ground is getting a good bite on metal (no paint etc)....Only thing you should have hooked between your amp and radio is the rcas and your remote wire (blue).

Panasonic CQ-C8303U. Hooked up an amplifier and it works with the radio but when i put in a cd the amp doesn't work. the receiver just plays with normal sound.

Verify your wire connections are correct. Keep in mind that if your amp is hooked up to the radios power antenna wire this is the problem. When you insert a cd the radio is designed to lower the antenna. If your amp is hooked up to the antenna wire the radio is shutting off the amp when you put in a cd Panasonic does this on most of all their units. You may have to hook your amp up to a separate switch to turn the amp off and on or hook it to your ignitions acc wire, if you hook it up to your ignitions acc the amp will stay on as long as your key is on even if you turn off the radio.
Here's a link to download the manual for your radio just copy and paste it in to your web browser and download the PDF file. You will need the reader to view it. If you don't have the reader you can download it for free at www.adobe.com

Will the CQ-RX100U fit my car?

Hello l0s18,

The Panasonic is a standard single-din receiver and should fit your Civic OK. You can probably get a vehicle-specific dash kit which will include the mounting collar and trim ring. Try this site. They will also have the appropriate wiring harness to eliminate the need for cutting or tapping into your vehicle wiring.

Hope this helps.
