Hi,my name is John. Take the cover off, turn the radio over to solder side up, look at the solder joints real close, you might need a magnifying glass. you will need a solder iron to heat up the solder joints, look closely, re-solder it , good luck,my name is John.

plug the external speaker into your PA jack and select the PA switch. If PA works then the audio chip is good. The cobra 29 must have a mic plugged in to get receive audio, You may have a broken wire at the mic connector.

I have a cobra 25 ltd classic that I bought from a CB shop it was fixed to have 50 W .you can see all the changes made on it .I have it hooked up with two wips 4 ft 1000 w fire sticks and a power mike it...

either he over tuned it and burned the radio out this can happen just cause a radio transmits 50 watts dosent mean the circuity can handle it and it will burn the radio because of overload. another factor is if you are running high swrs with that kinda out put you will fry it sounds like its getting hot and radios dont work well when they get hot take it to a tech tell him what was done to the radio and what it is doing. you can test the radio by buying a watt modulation meter it will tell you excacley what the radio is putting out I doubt its transmitting 50 watts that is a single final radio unless he modified the final.good luck.

Cobra 29 nw when you key the radio the swr meter doesnt move and if you move the swicth to cal you can adjust it with out keying the mike but has good recive any help would be good thanks dwayne

To check the SWR, you put the swicth on CAL and key the mike with mike gain turned down all the way, then calabrate it to the meter on the CAL scale, then swicth it to SWR before you unkey the mike, then what ever the needle falls back to, that is your SWR reading.

I have no reciving in a cobra 29 ltd chrome

Bad switch. It's that simple. The factory switches are crimp together junk. You may be able to use a pair of needle nosed pliers to softly squeeze the case of the switch together to correct the poor contact in side of the switch, but, if it gets a lot of use you may need to replace it altogether. Or try adjusting

Thanks!
