Question about Dryers

Open Question

I have a Samsung electric dryer model number: DV328AEW/XAA. The lint trap has warped slightly and will no longer fit correctly in the space provided. I am trying to buy a new trap to replace the current one, but I cannot seem to find the part anywhere online. I have ruined too many clothes as they get caught on the trap in the dry cycle. Do you know where I can find this part??

SOURCE: Lint is not going into pull out lint trap. The lint screen is torn and lint is collecting behind trap.

Poor air flow would be my guess. How long is the vent hose? Does it have more than one angle/turn before venting outside? Is the lint gathering around the outer edges of the door? Keeping the length of air travel shorter will improve the operation.

SOURCE: Lint fell down the lint trap. How do I get it

Luckily, dryers are light. Best thing to do is pull it out until you can remove the back cover. (unplug it first) Then vacuum and clean all the dust and lint you can. This should be a yearly thing at least anyway. Replace the back plug it in and slid it back. I do mine every 6 months or so.

SOURCE: my front load samsung dryer destroyed my clothes

ours did the same thing and it was caused by lint build up in the track where the screen goes into. It was tough to vacuum out but I made a thin hose that would reach down to the bottom and scrape and vacuum out the hardened lint.

SOURCE: Clothing getting caught on lint

Probably has extra space between drum because the front felt guides on the drum have worn. This can be accessed by removing the front panel.

SOURCE: DV328aew/xaa Samsung frontload dryer. dryer spins

Hi

If the dryer is not drying the clothes then you would need to check for the following things-

1. Inspect the fuses and circuit breakers they may have burned out or tripped. Usually, dryer will still tumble but not create heat if a fuse or a circuit breaker is not working.
2. Check for the amp reading at 240 V, it should have reading of 24, 21 and 3 amp (approx.) for 2 lines and neutral respectively.
3. Heating element may have turned or the connection to the element might be loose. Sometimes a shorted circuit element will keep on blowing the fuse or circuit breaker.
4. Motor wiring shorting to ground. You can check out the exploded parts diagram for your dryer on this link---

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more assistance.

Typical 'motor over heat' or weak thermostat problem. Try starting the dryer just after it over heats. What happens..A humming sound?...motor is overheating and seized up....if quiet, could be motor as well. Check that your dryer vents are open and clear.

Some problem areas I've seen are: 1) The pipes and tubes inside the machine, both before and after your lint trap, could be plugged up.You'd need to take the whole machine apart to clean this.
2) Try venting to the room air, since there could be a blockage between the hose and the outside air.
Be blessed.

If the fuses at the panel are ok then could be the heater, thermostats, sensor or control.

Cannot locate lint trap to fit my wsm2420 sazww washer dryer combo ge parts no will not fit

In the Kenmore equivalent, the lint trap is on the back wall of the interior of the dryer. If GE is the same then you'll see two vents at the back inside, one is the intake (where hot air enters), the other is the outtake, which contains a lint trap. You might have mistaken both for nonremovable vents. But one of them is removable. It should have finger holes or something to grab. Just pull it and it will pop out without difficulty. It's probably a two-piece unit (a grate on the dryer side and a screen on the exhaust side, with a space in between for collecting lint), which snaps or slips apart easily, then you can clear the lint, and then snap or slip it back together and just push it back in place in the dryer.

Yes this is rellatively normal as clothes are just not made the same way any more. You could turn down the drying temperature slightly and put in an anti static drying sheet but it won't make that much difference.
