Question about Kenmore Oasis HE 27082 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Need to verify correct part needed

This is to Jsrock516, I have the model 11027042603. Washer runs through cycles but sometimes will beep continously while flashing through each soil level light, during this time washer can not be stopped but will finish all wash cycles. Sometimes when starting the washer the dial knob lights will light up in a circle not where you select. I am confused if the part I need is the User Interface #8564372 $166.76 or the Control Unit Assembly #W10155109 $143.20 both prices from Sears.com 05/29/08. I have a 15% off parts coupon and want to order the correct part. Reply here or email forsaleorbuy@yahoo.com Thanks!

Sorry it took so long to get back to you. More than likely this is a User Interface problem. If the washer functions normally, but randomly alarms and gives erroneous front panel readings this is a typical symptom of an Interface problem. I would assume the Control Unit Asembly as being good if there are no fault codes being generated. It sounds like you have an interface keypad that's acting up and causing some of the keys to become stuck giving erratic indications. This is a common problem with this washer and I've seen it many times. I hope this solves your problem. Let me know if you need assistance in replacing the Control Unit.

Here's the instructions for replacing the User Interface. First, you will need to UNPLUG the washer.

    1. Remove the console by removing the three screws holding it in place in the rear. The console will lift from the rear (tilt towards you) and then lift off. CAUTION: Exercise a care in lifting the console off due to the small electrical connector.
    2. Carefully unplug the electrical connector from the Control Board and the console will come free from the rest of the washer.
    3. Remove the control knob by pulling straight off.
    4. Place console face down on a soft surface (like a stack of towels).
    5. Remove the series of screws holding the User Interface in place as well as the white plastic back cover. This cover can be a real bear to remove as you have to c-a-r-e-f-u-l-l-y pry the tabs holding it in place with a small flat blade screwdriver. I might recommend you order part number 8572038 as well. In many cases the struggle just isn't worth the effort and much simpler just to snap a new interface cover in place with the new circuit board.
    6. Hold the edges of the new board to minimize contact with the components as you install it.
    7. Reinstall the console and control knob. Insert the console (front tabs first) into the washer top panel and rock back to seat it into position. HINT: If you pull up on the screws and turn them counter clockwise a little (leave them in the console), they will remain extended out and make reinstalling the console easier.

I hope this helps you. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me. Go to my profile and use the "ASK ME" feature for a quicker response. Good luck to you.

depending on its age take a look at the motors brushes. sounds like 23 mins would be spin cycle when the motor picks up speed. they may need replacing.

You will need to check the out of balance switch under the motor controller board for corrosion and replace if faulty.

Hello Mike - Typically, if the water temperature combination is not appropriate for the cycle selected, the status lights will blink and signal will beep 3 times. Try resetting the unit by either unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker to the off position. Wait roughly ten minutes and turn on the washer. Select a normal cycle and verify if the washer continues to beep. If resetting the power does not correct the issue, your appliance could be experiencing a communication error with the control board or could have a wiring failure. I would suggest contacting an experienced service technician to determine the precise cause.

How to shut off dryer end of cycle beep. Can u run

If the model number is correct, the dryer End of Cycle signal cannot be adjusted or turned off. The informatrion is listed on page 11 of the Owner's Manual:

http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/owner_manuals/16695/WHIRLPOOL-Laundry-Centers-L0710382?brand_name_search=LTE5243D

The only way to turn the signal off, is to remove the operator console, locate the signal (buzzer) module and disconnect the wire(s). The buzzer is listed as item 32 under the "Washer/Dryer Control Panel" parts listing:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Whirlpool-Parts/Washer-dryer-combo-Parts/Model-YLTE5243DQ2/1198/0152000/W0702346/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=

CAUTION: If you choose this option, make sure you UNPLUG the washer/dryer before servicing anything inside. If you disconnect any wires, make sure you cover them with heat shrink or electrical tape to keep them from coming into contact with anything else.

The washer and dryer use a common power source, but the rest of the functions operate independently of each other. You can safely run both units at the same time.

If need further assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

No, this is probably a direct drive that has a faulty plastic coupling from motor to transmission. Go to:

Stops drains and bleeps with only spin light illuminated

It sounds like you need to re programme the
machine.
With the machine plugged into the wall and
turned on and the headset turned off this is what
you do.
Push and hold down the start button, while doing that you need to then push and hold down the power button.
Hold them down for about 5 seconds, during
which time you may a series of up to 3 beeps.
Then release the buttons.
Turn the machine off and then on again followed by the start button. Allow the machine to then run the complete cycle.
This should correct your problem, if this doesn't then you may need to then look at replacing the computer panels.

Washer beeping during washing - no code error - now it starts and with the lid open

There has been a noted problem with the Oasis and the particular problem(s) you just described. The problem is caused by the User Interface board which is located behind the control panel. Make sure you identify the correct board. There is a Main Control board located UNDER the console. The user interface board is located BEHIND the console where the control knob and push buttons are. The only fix for this problem is to replace the control board in the control panel. If you provide me with your model number (located around the wash tub opening under the lid somewhere), I will research a part number and price for you. I can also give you step-by-step instructions on how to repair it yourself. Post back with comments and let me know. I hope this helps you.
