This flashing LED means only one thing, and it is quite harmless:

Your laptop is either "asleep" (suspended) or in "hibernation" mode.It does this if left for a long time with no activity/input from you. You must simply "wake the laptop up" now:

Look for a symbol on keyboard for "sleeping" (like a half moon with zzzz) and press that key WITH whatever color coded key matches the symbol color (usually "FN" key). If there is no suchkey, press the space bar and hold it down a few seconds.

Then wait. Can take 60 seconds to "wake up" on slower processors.

If this does not work, press AND hold the POWER button for 10 seconds. Then wait 60 seconds and press power key again, briefly, to start laptop normally.

Pressing and holding the power button 6-10 seconds forces a complete system shutdown.

If this happens often, something may be wrong with APM or ACPI settings/driver. You can go to start menu/settings/control panels/power management and adjust settings (or disable sleep/suspend and hibernation if all else fails to resolve situation)

good luck.

    CLARIFICATION:

with your laptop, there are two possibilities.

This flashing LED usually means only two things, both are quite harmless:

    1. Some laptops will flash the power LED when battery is charging. If
this is the case, it should stop when battery is fully charged. This
can be presumed if the laptop starts normally while LED flashes. If
    not, suspect step 2 below:

Hi

Thank you for your query

Please can you try the following

Remove battery
Remove wall charger
Press and hold the power button down on the laptop fro 30 seconds
Plug in wall charger and power up the laptop
After approx 5 minutes slot in the battery and see if the issue occurs again

If it does then from the description it would seem the laptop is overheating, so plase can you ensure there is plenty of ventalltion around the laptop and if it still continues you will need to book laptop into a reputable PC shop to swa out the heatsink

I have a Toshiba Satellite SA40-271 model. When you want to start by pressing the START power LED yellow flashing on and does not start.

To change your computer power saving plan, automatic shutdown, or to check power settings, go to, (Control Panel), click on Change Power Settings. From here, choose when the Computer Sleep, when not in use, how long the display stay on, and when the computer should shutdown etc. I hope this Fix it.

Toshiba Qosmio X305-Q705 Laptop screen yellow

It is not a driver or video card problem. It is the monitor.

To be sure plug a full size desktop monitor into your laptops monitor jack. Every laptop has one. If the picture doesn't turn yellow that will confirm that your LCD is bad.

Toshiba Qosmio F15-AV201 will not turn on

Remove the battery. Plug in the power adapter. If you do not see a light turn on the front of the machine, you have one of two problems. A bad AC adapter, or the pin inside the computer has come loose. Both of the issues are very common. If you go to a local computer shop, im sure they would test that for free. Pin replacement usually runs around $100 in my neck of the woods. A "GOOD" AC adapter can cost as little as 25 bucks on ebay to 150 from Toshiba.
