To reboot your mini laptop to factory default you need to re-install your OS (Operating System).
To do this you need your Windows xp, vista, or Windows 7 disc, and make sure you have your product key. Ie. Product Key: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx (Most product keys are on the bottom of the laptop, and are 25 Characters).
Put the disc in your laptop and restart your computer. Boot from CD, and follow the prompts. It will ask you if you want to format your partition (Erase all your data including virus's) and format it. Then it will install your OS, and you will have factory default setting's and programs.

Hope this helps and if you have any further questions don't hesitate to ask me! Please don't forget to rate :), Thanks!

The Acer Aspire One is a netbook, not a laptop.
A netbook is a smaller, scaled-down version of a laptop. It does not have the memory capacity or graphics of a regular laptop.
It also lacks a CD drive, which means you cannot restore the Acer Aspire One with restore discs. Instead, the netbook has a built-in factory restore feature.
You can reset the Acer Aspire One to factory settings just using your keyboard.
Only restore your netbook to factory settings if you cannot fix the problem any other way.
Save any files or folders on your Acer Aspire One with flash drives.
Drag and drop files onto the icon of your flash drive.
Go to "Start" > "Restart" to reboot your netbook.

Hold down "Alt" and "F10" when you see the Acer logo on the screen.
The recovery menu will load.
Hit "Enter" and then "Next" to see your recovery options.
Choose "Factory Restore" to set your netbook back to factory settings.

Resetting a Dell Inspiron to the factory settings allows the user to restore the Dell Inspiron to the original operating condition as if it was just taken out of the box. Dell system includes a restore utility called 'Dell Symantec System Restore' to reset or restore your Dell system to factory setting.

My daughters computer is a dell latitude D610 notebook running Windows XP.....when powering up XP starts to load and then goes to a blank blue screen....Is there a restore disc or something i can download...

Hi. I provided you a link where to download the restore disk. Once you have downloaded the restore disk, here's the instruction on how to use the disk.

Instruction:

  • Backup all the data you want to keep on an external hard drive, flash drive, or rewritable CD. Resetting your Dell to factory defaults will erase all data currently on your computer.

  • 2

Insert the Recovery CD into your CD-ROM.

  • 3

    Reboot your computer.

  • 4

Watch the text in DOS carefully. When prompted to boot from your CD, do so.

  • 5

Choose System Restore and then follow the instructions presented. Once system recovery beings, it may take a few minutes. Once it's done, your system will reboot again.

  • 6

Remove the Recovery CD from your CD-ROM and store it carefully. Your system has been reset to the factory default.

When I got it from ebay it said that I need to format and reboot and it doset have a cd rive

Ok so I would assume with no factory cdrom it most likely is a mini.... Without knowing what model you have I can not tell u how to reformat with the backup the factory placed on there. If you have the factory restore cd then u can buy or borrow and external cdrom and load it that way.

If you have the recovery CD, then put that in the drive, reboot the laptop and make sure you boot to the CD. The recovery process will start up and you can restore the laptop to it's factory settings. Make sure you have all of your documents, music, etc. backed up.
