This problem occurs because of ip conflicts in network. For that you need to enable DHCP on router or need to change ip address in computers as your network range. Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. Then click on DHCP enable it then save settings and restart router.. Let me know if you need further assistance. Thanks for using FixYa.

UNABLE TO CONNECT MY KINDLE 3 WIFI/3G TO MY NETGEAR WPN824v3 WIRELESS CABLE ROUTER... PASSOWRD IS OKAY...

Four reasons come to mind that may prevent you from connecting:
  1. Wi-Fi Passwords are case sensitive. Please check again if you entered the password with proper casing and you did not put any extra white space in front or behind. I know, this sounds annoying, but it is really the most common cause for connection problems.
  2. Give your network a unique SSID. This is the network name that shows up in the list of detected networks. Default names like NETGEAR can be troublesome if a neighbor one block down the street happens to have a router from the same company.
  3. Some routers have a MAC address filter as a security measure, limiting service to devices specifically whitelisted. If your router is set up for this, add your Kindle's MAC address to the list of permitted devices. You can check the MAC of your Kindle from its settings page (press HOME, MENU, select SETTINGS, see paragraph headlined "Device Info".
  4. There are twelve different standards for Wi-Fi transmission collected under the hood IEEE 802.11. The four most dominant transmission modes are called a, b, g and n. They differ in radio frequency, modulation method and data rate. Kindle supports the two standards IEEE 802.11 b and g only, which is not really a problem because all wireless routers I ever encountered support one or both of these, too. However, the WPN824v3 belongs to the "RangeMax" series of NetGear routers. In combination with certain Netgear wireless network adapters, it can be set up to use a proprietary modification of 802.11g exclusively (108Mb/sec, doubling the 54Mb/sec for 802.11g), not allowing for standard b or g connections. Make sure it allows standard b+g connections, too.
Please add a comment to this solution if one of these items resolved your problem. If you suffered from a different issue I did not think of, it would be nice to drop me a line, too. Other people will benefit from any experience you made.

Security setup on my router

Please follow the below task to enable security on the wireless connection:
1. Open the browser(Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox) on a computer connected to the router. 2. Access the router, usually with http://192.168.1.1 or http://www.routerlogin.com. 3. Login to the router with the Username as "admin" and Password as "password" (please note that the username and password is case sensitive). 4. Click on Wireless Settings'(under Setup) from the left menu. 5. Select security options as 'WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy)'. 6. Set the 'Authentication Type' as automatic. 7. Set the 'Encryption Strength' as 64-bit. 8. In Key 1 type a 10 digit number. 9. Apply the settings.

Hope this allows you to resolve the issue.

Regards
Anand

How do i re-install netgear wpn824v3 w/o the cd ,i used the restore button

On any PC connected to the WPN824, open a web browser, any URL. The device automatically redirects to the configuration wizard after factory reset.

The manual can be found here: http://kbserver.netgear.com/pdf/wpn824_ref_manual.pdf - you may want to start at page 2-8 for a guide through the configuration process.

I have the WPN824v3 and it can be balky finding and connecting to a network sometimes. It works best (and gets the best range) using the Netgear RangeMax Wireless USB 2.0 adapter (WPN111). The router and this adapter are (according to Netgear) specifically designed to work with each other, thereby maximizing both the range and the speed of the router.

Router is a Netgear WPN824v3. The problem I am

Chances are that the router is set to manually assign an address if it doesn't receive an IP from the DHCP server.

I would first try removing all the wireless profiles and creating them again.
Also a windows update may have broken any firewalls you currently have installed so disabling them is also a good idea, then turn back on when you get it to work.

I tried to connect Netgear Wireless Router WPN824v3 to my Compac Presario CQ60 Notebook using the installation CD provided with router. After connecting all required cables and reapplying power to modem...

Try connecting a cable directly from your router to your laptop and using the actual IP address of your router instead of routerlogin.com, being a Netgear it should be 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1.
Hope this helps.

PS3 not detecting router

This is most likely a compatibility issue. There are a number of routers that the PS3 will not connect to wirelessly. Your router is not listed as compatible or incompatible, perhaps because it is too new.

I suggest returning the router and getting one that is listed as PS3 compatible. The Netgear WGT624 Super-G is listed as PS3 compatible - try taking your new router back and exchanging it.
