Question about Initial DTV-201 20 in. LCD Television
This indicates that either the backlights (CCFL) or the inverter. If it is the inverter, you might be able to check the board for a burnt transformer. Replacing the florescent lights would involve taking the TV completely apart, buying a CCFL tester, and replacing the bad CCFL with a new one. i would recommend, if you cannot find any burn marks on the PCB, then it is quite possible that it is the backlights.
my opinion. this is a lot of would and could potentially cost a lot. i would just buy a new tv.
