Question about Black & Decker Garden
If only the nuts and washers came loose, and if everything is still relatively intact, you can fix it yourself in two ways, listed here in order of my preference.
1)Go to your local hardware store, home center, automotive shop, or lawn and garden supplier, and find what is called a "stop nut" that has threads that match your machine. These stop nuts contain a plastic washer internally that, when tightened, bind against a fastener and resist shaking loose when vibrated: perfect for gas-driven power equipment.
2)Get a small bottle of a thread locking paste, available at most hardware stores, home centers, automotive stores, or lawn and garden repair shops. The stuff usually goes by many trade names, like Lock-Tite or Threadlocker, and it all comes in different grades. Since your using a hand held machine, I'd guess you'll get away with using the lowest grade--that is, the weakest strength--of locking paste. If you buy too strong a formula, you may never get the threads apart to fix anything internally. Apply a small amount of the paste to your problem hardware, and tighten everything up as usual. When you're at the store, ask for the product by name, like 'Do you have any Lock-Tite," and they should know what youre talking about.
Hope this helps.
