Canon MP610 - cartridge replacment problem and B & W printing.
Hi, i have just had the PGBK 5 black cartridge re-filled for the first time and the printer is still reading it as empty with the flashing red light. How do I fix this problem? Also how do I print in black and white and not in grayscale? many thanks

the printers control board you have a buton that is called
Resume/Cancel, it is the buton near the copy black and copy color
butons. You can recognize it by the red triangle in a red circle. Press
this buton for at least 10 seconds, if the error is not gone from the
first time press and hold the buton for at least 10 seconds for the
second time. Now the printer will have the ink level counter disabled but do not worrie it will worj just as well.
The PGBK cartridge is a pigment black ink, while the others use a dye for coloration. The pigment black is used when printing text and other documents. The dye ink is used when printing photos and other colored documents. The dye black is used in conjunction with the color (dye) inks to provide tinting and color gradation, and therefore is not used nearly as much as the pigment black unless you use your printer only for printing photos.
If you're printing text and documents, you will need to buy another pigment black (PGBK) cartridge.
