It seems to be something wrong with the system core. Try push the processor towards the motherboard a bit to make sure it fits tight and the cable connection of your disks are connected well. Then reboot it. You can try to boot in safe mode or perform a system restore to factory default to remove all hard disk issues.

How to remove black screen from my laptop

If you have a repair disk, boot from it and run a "Start up Repair". On a Dell machine I think it's "F10" during the boot process to get to the BIOS settings, change the setting to boot from CD to run the repair. After running the repair, reboot and enter the BIOS again, change the setting back to boot from the Hard Drive, save and exit. Hopefully this will solve the issue.

Light blue screen with enlarged mouse arrow can't log in

This sounds like it is going into safe mod or descreasing resolution. What has transpired before this problem? Did you upgrade video drivers?

Screen wont come on, on my Toshiba laptop computer

A blacked-out screen doesn't necessarily indicate a broken monitor.
If the computer has run out of charge or is in hibernation or sleep mode,
if the screen is too dark, or if the display cable has come disconnected from the motherboard, the screen may appear black or fail to turn on. To fix a blacked-out laptop screen, troubleshoot the screen settings, check the LCD connector and see if the computer is awake and receiving power.
Touch the touchpad or move the external mouse to see if the computer is asleep or hibernating. If the computer fails to respond, press "Enter" on the keyboard. Press the power button if the screen remains black. Confirm that the power indicator light, found at the front of the computer or above the keyboard, is glowing solid green or blue. Confirm that the power adapter is plugged into the computer and into a wall outlet. Confirm that battery indicator light is glowing solid green or blue. Hold down the "Fn" key. Press the up-arrow to see if the screen brightness increases.
Some computers also use the "F6" or "F7" keys to increase screen brightness.
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off the laptop.
Remove the AC adapter from the computer, close the screen, and then turn the PC over.
Slide the battery latch to eject the battery. Pull the battery out of its compartment. Turn the computer back over, open the lid, and insert the edge of a flathead screwdriver or other flat, solid object beneath the bezel above the keyboard. Wedge the edge of the keyboard bezel off of the top cover.
Work your way along the edge of the keyboard bezel to loosen it.
Pull the bezel off the laptop.
Trace the cable coming from the laptop screen to the connector found beneath the bezel.

Reconnect the display cable to the motherboard if the cable has come loose from the connector.
Line up the tabs on the bezel with the slots along the top of the keyboard. Insert the right edge of the bezel into the gap above the keyboard, and then push the bezel back in place. Turn the computer back on.

If the laptop screen is still blacked out, connect an external monitor to the video port on the side of the PC to confirm that the video card isn't defective.

If the external monitor works, the LCD screen could be broken.

If the monitor doesn't work, the motherboard or video card might need to be replaced. Hope this helps.

The blue screen (BSOD) is usually caused by a new piece of hardware or driver. But there is a code on the screen which will give you more information about the problem. Put the code into a websearch site and the possible cause should be given.

You are probably heading for a reinstall of the os (or restore). You can try booting in safe mode (f8 after acer logo goes away, then arrow up on keyboard to safe mode (mouse wont work in this mode), then hit enter.
If this still doesnt work, check your manual on restoring your system.

Need to reset display settings

Hi

Take a look at the keyboard and find the FN button on the bottom left. (The letters FN are in blue)

Now look at the F keys at the top of keyboard and find one that has either a couple of monitor symbols or the letters CRT/LCD - again in blue

Holding down the FN key and press the other key, this should change screens between the external and internal monitors. Don't expect an instant change - it sometimes takes a couple of seconds to do the job.

If that does not work then attach another external monitor, right click on the screen and select properties. Now select the far right tab (settings) and then go to Advanced tab and then select Monitor

Here you should be able to change screens back to the LCD of the laptop
