My WMP 11 on Vista will not recognise my philips

Could be driver problem. You can try reinstalling the driver for the device. If it's a vista system, you might want to run the executable file in administrator mode, or even change the compatibility to XP.

Uninstall the current installation of the device software.
  • Insert CD in CD-ROM
  • Right click on the setup file
  • Choose properties / Compatibility Tab
  • Set it to XP
  • and tick the box at the bottom run as administrator.
I hope that help.

PSA128max mp3 player problem

Make sure the hold/lock is not engaged
Try another USB port
Reset the player

If that fails:
Download the newest version of the Philips Device Manager:
www.usasupport.philips.com - change your country/language as needed
Enter in your exact model #
Click on the link for your exact model #
Click on the Software & Drivers section
Click on "Firmware Upgrade Software"
Install the new Device Manager
Open and run the "Repair" tab

If still nothing:
Disconnect the Go Gear from computer. Press the reset pinhole until the player turns off. Hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard. If this pop-up does not appear, reset the player again WHILE connected to the computer. Open the Philips Device Manager, and go to Repair Tab. Reset the player one more time while connected to computer. Follow the repair instructions.

After repair is complete, upgrade the firmware for this player. Will erase all the songs, but you should be good to go again.

If these methods fail, call Philips to see if you are still in-warranty.

I dont know how to transfer music to my philips mp3 player

You must use Windows Media Player, because the Musicmatch service that it was originally tied to was discontinued in October 2007. Manuals and software can be found at www.usasupport.philips.com

Software and drivers are only available for Windows XP, but may also work with 2000.

Check to see if the Philips Device Manager recognises the drive.

Note: the player does not show as a removable drive.

Also make sure you have Windows Media Player 10, and use this to try and transfer files with the Sync function.

Not there

if the cmos utility does not register a device, your windows won't
open the case, fix the working device carefully, go to the cmos utility to register the device and your windows will recognise it.

Philips mp3 go gear

PSS110 is only compatible with Windows XP and Windows Media Player 10.(Even though Musicmatch is used to transfer files)

If you have Media Player 11, then uninstall to roll back to version 10.

Check that you are not loading protected (DRM) tracks. If so delete these tracks and load a non DRM test track.

If this doesn't help then try the following:

Check that Musicmatch is recognising the player as GoGear, and not removable drive n: (Where n: can be any drive letter)

If it is showing as removable drive within Musicmatch, then go to the options menu. Select devices. Click on the dropdown menu, click on GoGear, then apply.

Install and run Philips Device Manager fro the product CD. Use the repair option to format the device, and free up the space taken up by the un-recognizable tracks.

Musicmatch will then put the tracks in the right place and update the playlist.

I can not install the philips device plug in , instalation CD is damaged

Apparently if you have windows media player upgraded to version 11, there are problems with some philips players. They suggest reverting to Windows media player 10 may solve the problem. You must be running windows xp for this player 's software to work - else win media player should do it fine. here is a link to the manual for your player; http://www.p4c.philips.com/files/h/hdd1620_05/hdd1620_05_dfu_eng.pdf and here is the link to the drivers; http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?scy=GB&slg=ENG&mid=Link_Software&cat=MP3_PLAYERS_CA_GB_CONSUMER&sct=HDD_AUDIO_JUKEBOX_SU_GB_CONSUMER&session=20070320110713_83.37.63.15&grp=PORTABLE_ENTERTAINMENT_GR_GB_CONSUMER&ctn=HDD1620/05&dct=PAL&did=ENG&file=/files/h/hdd1620_05/hdd1620_05_dmr_eng.htm which you can download and update your pc. Hope this helps :)
