Please help! 3 year old Indesit D61D stated to stick. Set on program 2 then when the controller reaches about 4 o'clock it just stays there with the dishwasher just washing away continuessly. Can cure it by manually advancing the switch, but normally we set it going last thing at night and I don't want it washing all night! Washing still seems good and it gets up to temperature fine. Any Ideas ??
The repair can be done yourself you need to first purchas a can of liquid wrench with extention. and first shut off power or disconnect power. there is a acess panal that you need to remove to get at gears to grease once it is greased you will need to turn the dial a couple of times (powerless) and replace the panel and plug or turn on power (when you are turning the knob besure to return to the start cycle ) if you need more info please email me firstname.lastname@example.org thank you and good luck

This sounds like a heating element issue, If the water doesn't get warm it just keeps trying to heat but won't advance past this point until it has reached a set temperature. You dishwasher may or may not be fitted with a thermal overload that may have tripped, Unplug the dishwasher, Remove the lower kick panel and look for a small circular metal sensor with 2 or 3 wires on it attached to the basepan of the dishwasher, Check to see if it has a red button in the middle and if it's there push it then re-assemble and try again, otherwise it's a visit from the serviceman unfortunately.
Hi, I have the same dishwasher and it fills from the cold supply, not the hot and it doesn't have a cold cycle as is previously suggested, as you will know kellyemb :-)
The Indesit DG6100W does a fill from the cold and heats as it washes, so if it's sticking part way through, it could be the heating element. Have you tried opening the door when it sticks and seeing if the water is hot? The heating element went on ours and it kept tripping the electric whenever the it tried to start to heat the cold water. If it is the element, they don't cost much to replace, even cheaper if you know someone who can fit it for you! Ours cost us around £12 and hubby fitted.
The only other thing I can think of is it might be the timer, like someone has suggested but how to reset it, I have no idea. I have seen on another website that a replacement timer is around £55 plus VAT, which is a little expensive.
you may have a bad heating element..or temperature sensor the water temperture is not getting hot enough to let the dishwasher run. you my reset it and try running the water in the sink until it reaches hot ... then try stating the dishwasher...let me know if this helps
yes, well done!
you fixed the problem by yourself
now all you got to do is change the element
buy a new 1 for this specific model
and switch them
a little more work then a light bulb switch
