SOURCE: Re: Model # 665-17039401. Clean light
Hello, Welcome to FixYa.
Based on your description, "clean light stays on" this is actually an error code as you may or may not know associated with the heating process. What typically happens is poor water circulation preventing the water from heating properly.
To resolve this, I'd start with the following...the wash pump area. You`ll need to follow these steps to clean it.
1 ) Remove the turbo wash tube if applicable to your model, it pulls off, i.e.
2 ) Spray arm removal. hold the center nut and spin the arm.
3 ) Now you can remove the upper spray arm supply tub or referred to sometimes as "rear feed cap".
a ) lift to depress the rear tab, i.e.
b ) Then twist the feeder to the right ( clockwise ), i.e.
4 ) Now you can remove the center nut...
Then remove the four # 20 torx head screws holding the filter in place, and lift the filter out.
Below the filter you`ll find food debris, undissolved detergent etc, but also a cover with a single #10 torx head screw to remove and the cover will pull straight up and out. the arrows from left to right in the image indicate...
1) screw location
2) tab to pull up on
3) the latch you may need to twist to the left to remove the cover
i.e.
Now you should see the chopper and screen assembly, it too can be clogged up pretty bad, clean it best you can...you don`t really want to remove this part.
If my explanation is not clear enough, here`s a link which provides a pretty good video of how to do this, these guys aren`t pro`s but the "how to" video is pretty thorough nonetheless.

Once these actions have been performed you'll need to clear the error code. to do so is as follows. Press the following buttons in this sequence...
HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL, HEATED DRY - NORMAL
This diagnostic cycle may take approx. 15-20 minutes to complete. Let it proceed through to completion and you should be good to go...unless the heater itself is at fault or a wire has vibrated loose from the heater...those are steps to follow if OR when necessary.
Let me know how you make out, please keep me informed if you need further assistance or anything is unclear. Please take a moment to rate me assistance and a short testimony is appreciated as well.
Thank you for choosing FixYa and good luck.

SOURCE: My dishwasher control panel does not light-up
This is a common problem. I am about to replace my second control panel in two years. First time was under warranty and I hope this time will also e under warranty.

I bought a control board for $127.00 figuring that was the problem but it wasn't. I called an appliance guy who came out and said its the touchpad that needs to be replaced. I ordered the touchpad ($325) since I already have to much invested in this dishwasher. I paid $1200 for it 8 years ago and its really a great dishwasher. My appliance confirmed that if it was the fuse-ling that you would not have any lights on.

only 2 things can cause this.
1 the control is set to lock out mode. just hold the lock button for 5 seconds and it should go back to normal mode.
or 2 the controls user interface has an internal failure. its the part that has the switches and tells the computer what to do. either way call whirlpool and see if its still covered by their warranty.
of yeah and the 3rd thing is you have no power to unit. make sure the outlet is good by trying something else in the same outlet, like a light or hairdryer.

I have a GE DCV515EF0WW front-load dryer. When the dryer is on there is a scratching noise that seems to come from the front edge of the drum. The unit just started doing this. I checked around the drum for debris. I found some lint and cleaned it as best asI could. Any suggestions. The unit is heating properly or so it seems. Thanks in advance.
