You just need to lift up and open the printer`s cover, wait for the cartridge cradle to stop, unplug , slowly pull out cartridges, remove the protective tape from new ones and then replace them gently until the new cartridge clicks. Here is the link to the canon mp560 manual which shows all instructions and pictures to remove and install cartridges. http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/6/0300002426/03/MP560_GS_U2_V2.pdf

Hi
Follow these steps;
- Open the document you want to print - Go to 'file' - 'Print' - click 'properties' in the print window - in the menu select 'Maintenance' - in the 'Maintenance' click 'Ink Cartridge Settings' - select 'Black Only' - click 'OK' - again click 'OK' - now you can print only using the black ink in the printer.
Hope this helps, Please rate if this solution was helpful. thanks!

Can not find the serial number

Hi,

In the Canon PIXMA MP560 printer the serial number can be found inside the printer. Lift the lid as if you were going to change the ink cartridge. When the cartridge slides to the left, you will be able to see a small white sticker inside the track with the serial number printed on it

Thanks,

I have set the Canon MP560 printer to print grayscale (black and white) but it still uses the color cartidges, apparently to periodically clean the nozzles so they will be able to print when needed. So I...

Canon has made there printer this way to SAVE on your black in and also to lubricate the print heads and other technical reasons.

To be honest I do not think its in your best interest to override the settings on this print due to the cause of damage to the print head and other sorts of failure.

There are chip re setters and other forms of ways to trick the system, These Void the warranty and thus Canon does not allow for this type of compromise to save ink. the best thing you can do here is purchase a ink kit with a chip that uses a contentious flo system to save you on ink purchases and money.

Here is a link to a example http://www.amazon.com/FantasyBuy-Bulk-Continuous-Ink-System/dp/B002T046TU

Good luck with your printer I hope this is a solution that best suites your needs to save money.

Where is the serial number on my pixma mp560 printer?

Good day.
It is normal to locate the serial number at the back of the printer but in the case pf MP560 printer, the serial number is located inside the printer. Open or lift the LID just like when you are changing Ink Cartridge. The cartridge assembly slides to the left, there you will see the white sticker inside the track with the serial number.
Just let me know if you still need some help.
Good luck.

My Canon Mp560 wont print because one of the black cartridges does not have ink although the others do. and i want to print but it is telling me that i need to change that one cartridge. please help!

This printer has and ink flow detection system to prevent "dry-firing" of the printhead which can cause damage. You will have to replace the cartridge in order to print on this model.

Hi, I have a Canon Pixma MP560, and whenever I try and print something in black and white it comes out with a pink tint to it. Hope you can help.

Possible that the Ink cartridge or the head is faulty. Ink drying can make this imbalance of colours , so check to correct with the properties of the printer, If not clean several times to see any changes come about with a test print.
The last can be the ink/head unit.

Where can I find the serial number on my canon mp560

For Canon PIXMA MP560 printer the serial number is INSIDE the printer. Lift the lid as if you were going to change the ink cartridge. When the cartridge slides to the left, you will be able to see a small white sticker inside the track with the serial number printed on it.
