Question about Cameras
Put my new 50mm EF f/1.8 lens on came up with error99. Never happen with kit lens.
According to the manufacturer you should try cleaning the lens contacts, which I usually use a rubber eraser to do this. If this doesn't work try removing the battery, and if it's not charged charge it then reinsert the battery. If neither of these options work I would have the lens looked at by an authorized service technician, and of course if there is something wrong with the lens and if it's new you might be able to exchange it for a new one thru the retailer you purchased it from and if not it should be covered under the manufacturers warranty. I hope this helps!
