Marantz DR-4050 2-Disc CD Recorder

4050

posted by valveampnut on May 29, 2008

Hello I have a Marantz DR 4050 for repair, the left hand record/play deck will not recognise a CD (says no disk) I have cleaned the lazer but can not find any adjustment, do I have to replace the lazer or the whole unit?
If so where do I get spares? I am in Spain but can have stuff delivered to England.

Regards

Thanks for that Dan it's what I thought but it's nice to have confirmation. They are Phillips decks so I can probably get generic parts.

The optics are most likely defective. Yes you will need to replace the optics assembly. I don't have a location for parts outside of the US, but you should be able to locate a parts distributor for Marantz in Europe.
