Question about Canon PIXMA iP3500 Printer
In that case its power source - the black box on which the mains cable plugs in is dead.
The printer is fixable - all you need to do is to replace the source. But this will cost you almost as much as a new printer. Your choice.

This printer has a replaceable power supply that can be removed from the bottom. It could be damaged by a power surge. You can test it for proper voltage output after removal.

its a very tricky thing to do and suggest you either take your empty cartridge to a professional or buy a new cartridge. do not attempt to do a diy job if u do not know what ur doing. the wrong mixture can have catostrophic events.

Select Printers on the top box, then you will have to enter the correct type, and then model #. Click "Go".
When the page comes up for the particular printer you are looking for, click on the "Drivers & Downloads" tab. Then select the operating system you are using. The list of available manuals is near the bottom. Some manuals are in PDF format. Others are self extracting EXE files.

here is the reset procedure
1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and release the Resume button.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.
