Question about Linksys Wireless-G WRT54G Router
That is one of the easiest routers to use.
Once connected to your broadband connection (Uplink connection to router), connect to any of the 4 ports to you ethernet port on your computer.
Open a web browser (Internet Explorer generally) and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 on the address line then press enter.
You will be prompted for a username and password, leave username blank and admin is the password.
this will gain access to the web configuration of the router. If cablemodem, little is needed to setup except for the wireless security. On the wireless tab, you can select the security options and enable WPA and I use an old phone number I can remember as the security key.
If DSL, you will need to select PPPoE in the general tab and include the username and password of you DSL account then save the settings.
Once configured, you can check the status tab and see if you are getting an IP address from the broadband.
