Question about Dell Latitude C640 Notebook
If you are getting a Warning at boot that the charging system is disabled, then you may have a problem with the AC adapter or the charging circuit of the motherboard.
If there is no warning and the system seems to operate normally, the battery is likely the fault. The Battery is a consumable item:
If you haven't tried a new battery, that is one thing to look into and see if a new battery charges. If a new or Known good battery (one that charges in another system) doesn't charge, the the fault is most likely the motherboard. If the system is a C640, then it might not be cost effective to repair.
