Did you take the video card out and clean the slot before you put it back in? What did you clean it with? The can of dust stuff will ruin a computer, because it just blows the dust to other parts of the computer. Use a vacuum cleaner or a dry vac instead.

Why does my monitor have a white screen

First, it could be out of adjustment--turn the brightness and contrast controls up and down to see if it makes a difference.
You could have a bad video card in the computer. Do you have another monitor to try to see if the actual video output is good? This is the easiest way of troubleshooting.
When you start the computer, can you see any white printing on the screen indicating it is booting? Does the problem start once Windows starts? If so, try starting in safe mode. If you can do this, then I'd suspect video driver problems.

I have an LG Flatron ez T713SH crt monitor. The display is black and flashing green indicator display appears. What is the possible defect or parts is defective?

A flashing light, with a black screen usually indicates one of about 4 things;

1) The videocard is not functioning correctly, or the cable is plugged into the secondary output on the card (if it has multiple).
2) The cable has become loose, damaged or completely disconnected
3) The monitor has died.
4) Your computer is not starting properly, causing a blank screen

Solution:
1) Check the cable's connection on both ends, and inspect for any damage (kinks or tears etc.)

2) Take the monitor over to another machine and see a picture comes up. If it does, it's time to suspect the videocard, if not, the monitor is to blame.

3) If you're at this step, it's because the monitor works and the videocard most likely does not.
If you have a standalone card, try;
a) removing it
b) cleaning the gold leads with a white eraser and re-inserting it.
If you do not have a standalone card, or know what that is, move on to the next step.

4) If you're suspecting the videocard, standalone or not, it's time to;
a) remove the RAM from the computer
b) clean the gold leads with a white eraser until it shines and re-insert it
I suggest this because a defective RAM stick can cause a computer to fail to boot. You can also try unplugging all other peripherals, such as the DVD drive and hard drive to see if either of those are causing the computer to fail to boot. Obviously, without the hard drive, Windows won't run, but you'll have discovered that the issue could actually be with the hard drive (however it's unlikely).

5) If none of this worked, try turning the computer on without the RAM in. if there is no beep, your motherboard might have bit the dust.

Lastly, if you're uncomfortable with doing some of the more rigorous/complicated testing, please take the machine in to a professional.

When an LCD starts getting pinkish to redish hues, the screen is starting to fail. You are in the biggining stages of losing the screen. There is no repair....only replacement.

Blue screen...sometimes a white screen?

This error is caused by a bad sector or error on the HD. The best course of action to start with would be to either boot up from a windows XP CD or you can try going into safe mode with command prompt. Once you get to a command prompt you will want to type the command chkdsk /r. This will run a scan of the hard drive and repair any issues it is having. If you are booting from an XP CD you will want to choose the options for repair and go to the repair console. For further information please read http://support.microsoft.com/kb/297185

Apple Cinema Display 23" HD - Dust on inside of screen.

Well, I pretty much knew that the display would have to be disassembled to clean the dust out. I should have been more specific by asking if the display "could" be taken apart to clean it out, especially since the dust is in between the image and light source layers.

Hi Detrix, Check with www.lcdrepair.net if you want a repair. Something is wrong with your LCD controller and or GUI interface circuit or the circuit supplying power to it. If your technically endowed, you may want to open the monitor case and clean the dust and lint from around the circuits using a Small paint brush to sweep away any built up dust. These circuits take the Signal from the computer and controls the 2.5 million pixels on the LCD screen. Dsut can cause major problems with handling all that data. Give it a shot, what do you have to loose, its not dangerous if the monitor is unplugged.
