usually this error is caused by your CMOS battery being dead.
You can verify that by getting into your BIOS and checking the date and time on your laptop.
If they are wrong, then usually that is the cause. Replacing that battery varies by model, but usually, if you go in, set the time, and save it,and the laptop is still powered up, the time will stay accurate, enough to load an OS, and once you unplug it, will need reset again.
