Question about WYSE Winterm V10L Network Terminal

Open Question

I have a WYSE V10L model VX0 terminal that will only boot up to "Input not Supported" error message bouncing over the monitor screen. I thought it was a resolution conflict and tried connecting to a 17" monitor as well as a 22" without luck. I also tried booting up while holding down the g key or the Control g , a solution I found while surfing your site, should reset to factory defaults - without luck. Any other suggestions? Thank you

Input not Supported is coming from the monitor(s). The default setting for the Display are way too high.

Go into Settings on Desktop, lower Resolution to 1024 x 768 or lower and the error message goes away. You can Test it before accepting.

The Alt+F10 did not work for me. Use the Restore System Defaults at the Shutdown menu.

Wyse 1200LE - error - out of frequency

This is caused by the terminals default display resolution (or the resolution that it was set to in its previous environment). The easiest way to get a display, would be to use a different monitor with a higher range of supported resolutions.

Fingers crossed the previous wnos.ini file would allow a G-key reset. If so, just hold down the G key when the terminal is booting, and it will reset to factory defaults. This might allow your monitor to work. (I think the default resolution is 800x600)

The problem you have is that the terminal might be locked down via the .ini file. So changing the configuration might be difficult. You could use a program like Wireshark to perform a network trace, this would tell you where the terminal is looking for it its wnos.ini file.

Then you will be able to setup a new wnos.ini on an FTP server set to the IP address(and path) the terminal is looking for, and this will allow you to set your own configuration.

Monitor flickers with changing colors making it almost impossible to see anything, it started & stopped for a while then after maybe three weeks after it started again ! I tried disconnecting & changing...

I suggest upgrading the OS on these problem terminals to the latest on the wyse website. It might be an incompatibility with the monitor and terminal (might have been fixed in later builds), in which case you will need to log it with Wyse directly, as they will need to test this.

Chances are though you either have a faulty monitor cable, a faulty unit, or faulty monitor. Perhaps even a combination of more than one of these above problems. Try to rule out each bit of hardware before blaming anything in particular.

Try a few different monitor resolutions, colour depth and refresh rates too. Cant hurt :)

Wyse PXE boot error

All Boot devices in BIOS may need to be set to "NONE". When shutting down, select "Shutdown and Restart the system, then hold the "Delete" key down while clicking the OK button. Keep holding the "Delete" key until system restarts in setup. Password that I was given is "Fireport". If that gets you access, then set all boot order configuration items to "NONE", then "Save Values and Exit". Hope it works for you as well as it did for me.

Input not supported

You may have a video resolution selected on your computer that the screen doesn't support.

The reason you see the the initial startup message is because that is loaded from the bios, prior to the settings for the graphic card output being loaded.

Try booting the computer in safe mode and adjusting the display resolution.

It probably has to do with the version of CE client that is installed on the Thin Client. I have run into this problem before. The same Wyse clients can have different versions of CE installed. If the versions are the same then contact WYSE tech support to find what the error code relate to. BPCS

No display in monitor

This may be the problem with the WYSE driver. Ensure that correct driver is intalled and colour profile is compitable. Syncmaster is auto detected by window based OS.the message "Sync out of range" comes due to improper out put video signal.

If it narrows it down for you, Trident 3D is the graphics display your motherboard uses, and must have a driver issue or conflict with your monitors drivers, check in device manager for your monitor type to see if it's recognised.
