Tape cartridge doesn't go back into carmera.

I have a Sony DCR PC1000E video camerma. Recently I have problems getting tapes in and out. I finally got a tape out tonight, but can't get the cartridge to go in again. Need fixing urgently, as I need to leave the country soon. Am in Brisbane for a few more days, where can I get help?

Sony DCR-TRV460 not playing back, blue screen

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if a blue screen is displayed when attempting to playback video from the camcorder.
  1. Stop the tape.
  2. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  3. Play the tape.
  4. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  5. Clean the video heads of the camcorder using a dry head cleaning cassette.IMPORTANT: Follow the instructions for use provided with the head cleaning cassette. It may be necessary to use the head cleaning cassette more than once per session.
  6. Reinsert the tape into the camcorder.
  7. Play the tape.
  8. If the issue is not resolved, stop the tape and remove it from the camcorder.
  9. Insert a different tape with video footage into the camcorder.
  10. Ensure the tape has been rewound to the beginning of the video recording.
  11. Play the tape.
NOTES:
  • If a blue screen is still displayed, then the camcorder may require service .
  • If the tape plays back correctly, then the first tape may be faulty or there is a problem with the video recording.

Video and audio play back is choppy

OK, yes, it probably does relate to a tape tracking problem, but does knowing that help you out at the moment, I had this same problem and I scanned for solutions and somewhere I seen this remedy and it worked, remove the battery and take your open palm and give it a sharp rap at the bottom rear corner, a good solid one but not enough to damage the cam. Hope it works for you.

The tape ejector is stuck up with the door closed and the tape is stuck in it and I cant get it to move down or open. What is the problem ? When I try too I get a beeping and blinking with C:32:21 on it....

Hello... The way I can get a tape unjammed on my Sony camera2.gif is to remove the battery, plug the camera into the AC charger that is plugged into the wall outlet. Then power the camera on, wait a few seconds. Then unplug the charger from the outlet, wait a few more seconds (camera still in "on" position) and then plug it back in. I have used this method at least 3 times to get the camera to release the tape and finally eject. However, the tape is usually pulled out or stretched and I use a small flat head screwdriver to wind the tape back in, but expect that portion of the video to be ruined and I don't recommend using the tape in the camera again even if you manually wind it forward past the problem area.
Hope this helps!

Camera will not insert tape. Mechanism works OK without tape. Sony dcr-hc42

A C31:40 error indicates that the drum (the spinning video head) is either not spinning or is not supplying a signal to the main computer to tell the computer it is spinning. It could be a bad drum or a loose connection. It will likely take a qualified technician to verify the diagnosis.
