Question about HP 2009M Monitor

1 Answer

We have a HP2009m/v/f monitor and we need a manual for it. I cannot seem to do that with this screen. We cannot keep the speakers from turning themselves off.

vvarisco, Could be that the internal ac to dc power supply may be faulty. If warranty not option, then you will need to investigate unit. Switch-mode-power-supply/ inverter lamp supply problems are the most common and rampant throughout the lcd monitor industry!! All brands are affected. Remember this!! When "strange" things start to occur with an lcd monitor, the first place to start looking is the units SMPS/INVERTER!! Read my fixya profile and those of "budmrtn" "buddymc" and other fixya tech's and then visit this old (2005) blog: http://www.lesliewong.us/blog/2005/05/02... for more info. Do the above research after you prove that the PC is not the cause of your "audio cutoff" and that your hp2009 acts same way when connected to a KNOWN GOOD PC. 12fixlouie

Hp2009m monitor has lines going across it. How do I get rid of them?

Needs to be seen to by an HP technician as faulty parts need to be replaced.

First test this screen on another computer to make sure it's the screen that is faulty and not your computer.

My hp2009m monitor goes into sleep mode

Monitors are programmed to go to sleep when there is no input. If you shut it down on the other "tower" also it will do the same. You need to physically hit the power button on the monitor to actually shut it off.

Plug in external speakers w/ volume very low in HP2009m screen

check if the external speakers u plugged in came with an internal amplifier, if not then u will have to use an external amplifier to get max output from your external speakers.

Screen is fading left to right. text starts black and turns to brown

Might be that your monitor is starting to go bad. Try another known good working monitor on the computer. If it works properly then you know its a problem with your original monitor. If the 2nd monitor doesn't work properly then its a problem with your video card.

If your original monitor is the culprit then it could be bad caps on the main board but regardless you could possibly take it back to Best Buy and get it replaced since it should at least still be under the manufacturers warranty.
