We have our PS3 connected thru Linksys. While playing on line games with others, I often am disconnected and when I reconnect, I receive a message that states, Problem occured with communication with server. This is a DNS problem (may not be word for word correct). This is lowering my ranking as it looks as if I quit the game.

Re: PS3 and EA Sports Games, Internet
I suggest updating it with the newest updates and what not.. if that does not work then there is a server error I think you can play of of seca instead of dns.... it seems to work for others if not check out the ps3 forums with some of the internet techs on the site! Hope that helps!

Perhaps you are no longer allowed on EA's server due to possible conduct. Remember this, XBOX & EA have very different server networks.EA's server ( needed to play online) are monitored very closely due to conduct. This means if u r reported or r monitored, they can & will kick you off, sometimes for a short time, but based upon offense, a VERY long time if not 4ever my friend.
I would suggest just based on a few lines of comment I have read, you might want to contact EA which are based in California. Ask them about a possible sever reset on you account name.
If you be calm about it you might just get lucky for the reset, this is only way of which I have heard to reconnect to there.
If you're unable to connect to your EA account from your console, it may be an issue with the game's connectivity. If this happens with multiple games published by EA, you may want to contact EA and request that they investigate the issue. However, if you're unable to log into the EA website from your computer, you may need to reset your password.
I am a gaming console repair technician and this sounds to me like there is a bug in the games code. You should inform the creators of the game (EA Sports) of this issue via their forum here: http://forum.ea.com/uk/categories/show/10.page;jsessionid=721E7F2EE8DB5EACDF21E4AADD07DAE8
Well depends on what games your playing you should upgrade to a PS3 or a Xbox 360 but PS3 is a cheaper buy, trust me you pay alot more for a Xbox then a PS3. Many reasons why your getting dropped your internet connection for your PS2 may not be good, EA servers for PS2s generally dont use many resources so it could be just the Servers. EA likes to focus on Computer games and other systems PS2 is dead now. You should upgrade.
I had the same problem where I'm logged into XBox Live and I couldn't get into the EA servers to play any EA games. This is what worked for me:
1. Hit the XBox button and Log out of XBox live. 2. Go to the Settings tab and select System Settings. 3. Choose Console Settings then Clock. 4. Choose Daylight Savings and set this to OFF and back out. 5. Log back into XBox Live and the time will be set automatically. 6. Start you EA Game and Have Fun!!!
