Accord 2003 radio works sparadically. you a big a crack or pop and the sound goes away. days or weeks later it comes back on. the back light and panel is visible. what is causing the sound to come on and off?

just look for the blackened/burned pin on the rear light plastic connector and sand it down to re-establish a good electrical connection and save yourself $800 big ones on replacing the multiswitch.

because the light on the radio come on with dash lights doesn't mean the radio is working,check fuse for radio,if its good,check for power at radio connection,if you have power there see if you can see a change in stations when you turn knob,if you do make sure all connectors are plugged in radio,now go to an easy access speaker and plug in a known good speaker

sounds like its wired up wrong, remove the radio unplug the connector and remove the radio, then check all your fuses must have blown one when radio was installed, after that charge battery and with radio removed see if battery goes dead, if not recheck wiring to radio, common problem with vw aftermarket radio,they are installed wrong,good luck,

Thanks to assistance from your expert, I replaced the ignition switch and problem solved.

a circuit board behind the radio is to blame.

6disc changer goes out first then bad signals are sent thru circuit board. components that help control radio n AC burn out eventually, causing the problem you have.

in my car (2003 G35 sedan) i heard a popping sound from radio while driving. my 6disc changer had not been working for a while now and i didnt care or know about this problem until it went further damaging. i had an ipod. well after pop, radio n AC buttons n lights stop working. AC turns on full blast and cannot be turned off. radio only controlled from steering wheel.

you have to ship your radio or drive your G35 to a factory car stereo repair shop. they are hard to come by so thats why you usually have to ship the piece out.

It may be a computer board problem. The board sometimes cracks causing intermitent random faults.

did you check the oil level it sound like a low level that lead your ecu to run in limp mode...

Mine had a similar problem (radio/tape casette days a 2 decades ago) Had to return the radio 3 times till they finally fixed it correctly. It was a problem internal to the radio. Sounds like you may have a compnent loose & not soldered well to the PC board. Or maybe it's a bad component & got fried. (output transistors ?)

it sounds like your oil pump or your oil pick up might be blocked.
Try running an engine oil flush and changing your oil
