One of the two belts may be broken or stretched on the unit. USUALLY it is the thin flat belt that runs directly off of the motor assembly. Replace the belt on the unit and you should be good.

The belt is most likely broken. Usually 2 or 4 screws on the bottom of machine to acess belt. check your owners manual how to change the belt

Hoover upright model u5095-930 belt change

I couldn't find your specific model but this may be similiar to another that you have to position the new belt around the agitator (beater bar) on the bottom of the vacuum, replace the cover, and then turn the vac over and remove the TOP cover to lift the new belt up and place it on the motor shaft/pulley. The new belt may require some effort to pull it over the pulley.

Hope this helps.

Belt

Not sure yet, but I assume you mean the belt that drives the brush at the base.
If it is an older style cleaner, there would a be cover held on by a few screws.
This hold the brush in place so tkae note of how it is in place should it fall out of place.
Lift the belt off the motor spindle to replaceit.

Replace belt

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The suggested belt change is every 4 to 6 months if the belt is a flat belt and to store the extra belts in a Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. As far as your question I would need more information about the brand name and model # to instruct you as per the belt change, other wise I don’t know how to instruct you as per the how to install the belt on your particular vacuum cleaner. Or, you can check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to contact the manufacturer’s website and or phone #. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Hi there, I’ve got a upright Hoover and it cuts out after about 5 mins I think it’s over heated but if i leave it for 5 mins it works again but cuts of again how can i fix it?

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. It is possible that you my have a heat sensor, but as far as what you described you need to change both belts, the brushroll belt and the power drive belt as well and @ the same time. The average belt change is every 4 to 6 months on the vacuum. Does it stop completely or is it just the belt problem. Or #2 is the vacuum giving off a burning smell other than the belts and if it does it could be the motor. Other wise , please call the factory or a local Hoover warranty station in your area. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

How to replace a belt on a hoover tubopower 2000 vacuum

Hover does not list by model number. You will have to look on the back of your cleaner, on the same sticker as the model number, is a manufacturing code (MFG Code) or Serial Number. Go to Hover’s web page http://www.hoover.com/CustomerService/Manuals/Default.aspx and you will be able to download the correct manual free of charge.
