Displays "NO DISK"

-   I had the exact same problem. Mine was due to a piece of plastic that had broken off that moves a little blue switch directly behind and below the tray. I noticed the plastic when I was moving the unit (getting ready to throw it out)
After CAREFULLY opening up the unit I removed the 4 screws that held the DVD player. There are 3 VERY important ribbons for the DVD unit to work properly that you have to pay special attention to. After finding the plastic piece that had broken off I searched looking for a match to where it went. After discovering it, I simply superglued it back in place. Waited a few hours due to the small mating surface, then tried it. It has worked perfectly since.

-   Cd will not play. Very selective doesn't always refuse to play. Sometimes multiple "Open & Close" will read disc. Have only played 10? DVD's. Cleaned Lens & Disc. Is there an "Adjustment" to be made??? John
