E08 is a oven heating error which basically means there is either a problem with the heater or the oven sensor. In this case i would check the oven sensor with an ohms meter. should read around 1080 ohms at room temp. Also try unplugging the unit for 30 seconds.

Oven igniter doesn't work

Surface burners
are typically either a coil type, solid type or a ribbon coil as used in smooth top ranges. All of these consist of a heating wire that uses electric current to produce heat. Coil type elements can be checked for continuity by removing them from the terminal block and testing them with a multi-meter.

You should also inspect the terminal ends for signs of heat damage or corrosion, and if present, you should replace the terminal block or receptacle at the same time. You will need to remove power from the range to change the terminal block. Solid elements and smooth top elements require raising or removing the main top to gain access. You will need to remove power from the range before lifting the main top. Continuity can then be checked with a multi-meter, once you have removed the wires from the element terminals.

On modern electronic control ranges, the oven temperature sensor
is the part that regulates the oven temperature. If it is not working properly it could be the reason why the range or oven won't start. This part can be found inside the oven on the rear wall near the top. Most modern ovens will display a fault code if the oven sensor is at fault. If you think the sensor may be the issue you can check the resistance with a multi-meter but will need to know the correct resistance of the sensor at room temperature. Remove power from the appliance before performing this test.

The infinite switch
on the control panel controls the power to each surface element. If you have no heat at an element and the element and terminal block check ok, then you may have a defective infinite switch. Disconnect power to the range and remove the console back panel. Locate the switch and check for overheated wires or faulty terminals first. Bake won't work with Thermador SMW272 oven.


unless ur not reading the voltage reading correct or using the proper voltage setting on alternating current and not direct current? it is showing ur not getting the full voltage as it should show 120 volts

THINGS TO CHECK:

the broil element
is the heating element that is found at the top of the oven and produces a very high heat for broiling. If the broil element isn't working, you should first do a visual inspection for signs that the element has blistered or separated. If the element appears normal then you can check for continuity with a multi-meter. Remove power from the appliance before performing this test. Remove the back panel and locate the terminals for the broil element and inspect the terminals and wires for signs of overheating or damage.

If there is no continuity then the element will need to be replaced. If the wires are damaged then they will need to be repaired. If the element is ok then you will need to check the broil circuit to determine the cause. This involves live voltage checks and should only be performed by qualified persons. Components to check include fuses, if the range is equipped, and oven control thermostat or electronic control. Depending on the manufacturer of the element, you will normally read between 19 ohms and 115 ohms


The bake element
is the heating element that is found at the bottom of the oven. Most electric ovens use both the bake element and the broil element in a bake cycle, with the bake element performing 90% of the heating. If the bake element isn't working, the oven may not heat. To help determine if the bake element is defective you should first do a visual check. If the element is blistered or separated then it should be replaced. If the element appears to look normal, then turn the oven on to a bake function for a minute and then turn it off.

Check the element for signs of heating and if it is still cold then it may be defective. Disconnect the power and then remove the back panel. First check the wires as they may have become loose or corroded. If the element appears to be fine visually, test it for continuity with a multi-meter. ( by placing the each of the meter prongs on each end of the heater element connectors) If the element is burned or no longer has continuity, it will need to be replaced. Depending on the manufacturer of the element, you will normally read between 19 ohms and 115 ohms

If the igniter does not glow at all, then check for power to the circuit. This is a live voltage check and should be performed by a qualified person. If power is present then the igniter may be open circuit and can be checked for continuity with a multi-meter. If the igniter is glowing, but the burner is not lighting, the igniter may be weak and still be at fault because it requires a certain amount of current draw to open the valve. This check requires the use of an amp meter and should be performed by a qualified person. If the igniter is defective then it must be replaced.

I have a LG LRE30453SW Electric Range and the relay pcb keeps going bad. I get an F7 error when starting the oven. The first time I noticed the black line in, from the power terminal, to the relay pcb was...


First, check the 220v line and breakers are properly grounded and that you are getting a constant 220v at the plug. Then you will need to check the transformer on the unit.To test a transformer you need to know what type of transformer it is first. There is a step up transformer which steps the voltage up and a step down transformer which steps the voltage down.
You will still test the transformers the same way for step up and step down transformers. If it is a step up transformer apply the incoming power to the transformer or plug it up. Now take your multimeter and place it on the AC volt scale and test the voltage if the voltage on the data plate says the transformer should step up to 220 volts and it doesn't then your transformer is bad.
Now repeat the same steps for a step down transformer. Plug up the incoming or primary power and test voltage on the outcoming or secondary side the voltage should step down to the proper value. If you don't read any voltage on the secondary or outgoing side then the transformer is bad.
To read the voltage place the two meter leads on the secondary side, or the side you will plug your equipment into. If the secondary side is an outlet then place the two meter leads into the top two slots in the plug and read voltage. You also want to make sure the incoming power is working as well. Otherwise you will be reading a bad reading every time.
If all that looks good, then you will need to replace the control board. Here is a link to the parts for your range.

Bake oven is not igniting. I had replaced the ignoter last year, Now I tested the igniter and it has low resistance so I went to test if it is getting voltage when the oven os set to bake. I saw something...


you have to read it out with a clamp on amp meter,clamp onto one of the ignitor wires and read it out,flat ignitor should read 3.2 amps,round ignitor is 2.5 amps.is the ignitor glowing or not ?

Frigidaire GLEB30S8CSB- the broiler doesn't work, all other functions are normal. What do I need to look at? Many thanks...


Unplug the oven.
Remove the oven racks.
Remove the bake element.
Be careful and not let the wires fall back into the holes when you remove them from the element.
Use a volt/ohm meter set for ohms or continuity to check the broil element terminals.
No reading is a bad element. If no reading replace the element.
If the element is good the control panel will have to be opened to check for power from the electronic control to the element.
Re-attach the broil element.
Access the control module for testing.
At this point you will be working with live high voltage.
Turn the power back on.
If you are not comfortable with that please call a service technician.
If you want to do it,locate the broil out put wire and the neutral wire on the control. Set the control for broil,place your meter leads on broil and "N".
No reading is a bad control module.
A good voltage reading will be a bad wire to the broil element.

The igniter in the oven is not coming on. the


It is possible that the igniter is bad but you will need to test it first. Disconnect the wiring harness and use a ohm meter on the connector for the igniter(should get 500 to 700 ohms). If you get a open reading or a very low ohm reading then the igniter is bad. Verify that the wiring harness coming from the oven control has around 120volts when the oven thermostat is in demand using a voltage meter. You can also have the igniter tested at most stores that sell replacement appliance parts.

LGR3330ADB Admiral touchpad display does not work


Usually this is due to a bad main clock/electronic control in the control panel but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.

Usually this turns out to be a problem with the main clock/electronic control but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt/ohm meter and the wiring diagram located within the appliance. If possible use the meter and the wiring diagram to check input/output voltages looking for discrepancies between the diagram and the actual meter readings.
