I installed Cakewalk Home Studio 7.0 on a new PC. Once installed I opened one of the provided songs. No sound. The speakers work. Cakewalk does not have the Realdek sound card in the MIDI devices section. It only has Microsoft Wavetable GS Synth and Microsoft MIDI Mapper.

I suggest you make a backup of your music files, uninstall cakewalk and reboot your computer to make certain there are no files left in the RAM then re-nstall it. That will ensure that your installation is a clean one. If that has no effect, remove the sound drivers from your system and re-install the latest versions from either Windows or the manufacturer's web site. That should fix your problem. Hope this helps.

Since they installed a generic copy of xp, there are none of the sony installed add-ons present on the computer. go here to view the available downloads for your system provided by sony, you will have to select the "EVERYTHING" tab to see the giga downloads if it does not load there.
Otherwise you will have to contact sony for a recovery disk specific to your system.
