Best way is to note down your laptop model number (usually at the bottom of the laptop) and go to your laptop's manufacturer's website. Find the "support" link and then find drivers for your laptop model.

Second way is to send me your laptop make and model and I;ll send your the URL of the driver.

Cheers

The speakers built in won't work, I checked in control panel and it said that there was no audio device installed, what do I do? I have a NV4402u Model

If you see a yellow icon under "sound" on Device Manager then that means that your Audio driver was coruupted or damaged that's why it says that there was no audio device installed in control panel.

Uninstall/Reinstall your sound driver should do the trick.
1. Go to Device Manager
2. Highlight the corrupted driver of your sound card the one that has a yellow icon and then click the delete icon on the upper right hand side of the window (you can place your cursor on each icon on the top to see the delete icon)
3. Restart window in order for the changes to take effect
4. After restart windows will automatically installed the driver back

NOTE: If windows did not installed the driver back you can use the CD Driver that comes with your laptop when the first time you bought it.

1. Insert the disc
2. run the audio driver
3. Restart your computer in order for the changes to take effect

Hope this information will be helpful. Thanks for using Fixya.

My friend used my laptop and he accidentally deleted my sound card driver and my laptop has no sound now can you help me fix it?my laptop is acer extensa 5620

Your audio driver is available here.

In the future, you can visit Acer's support website where they have all the drivers you could need for your system. Also, sometimes Windows Update will find these drivers as long as you select the custom or optional updates which often times contain updates to hardware software and drivers.

I`m looking audio controller driver for nx5000

I have come to find that just because they say you have a creative sound blaster pci card deosn't mean you have one you can try other sound card drivers at the website, I downloaded a bunch of them in a file on my desktop placing each inside a folder by itself and unziping them to thier respective folders then burning to a cd then placing the cd in the laptop and using the control panel under performance and maintenance access system then device manager click on the sound card or multimedia device and click update driver with the cd in the drive it will find the driver it needs and at least tell you if it is in fact a soudblaster card, good luck

No sound when headphones cabel is into laptop

If you are using Windows Vista, the solution might be that you have to go into your control settings, and set your headphones as your default speakers. This is a one-time deal, and once you do it once, then your computer should auto detect when you are using them after this.

Somehow you must have either deleted you sound drivers or disabled them. you can start by looking in you control panel-sytem-hardware-device manager on the list should be something about multimedia audio controllers if there is a yellow arrow next to that then you must have removed the drivers and thus will need to download them from the manufacturers web site.
