True back bar freezing up

Most models have a metal drip collector below the evaporator that has a drain hole in it where the defrosted water goes into before it goes down to the drip trap and then out the drain hose. If the area around the drain hole has cracks, or was punctured during servicing, the drain water can get underneath the tray and run out beside and around the drip tray and never gets into the drain tube and freeze in that location. A careful inspection of this area will reveal any issues.

Defrost drain is freezing

it is a normal problem with all refr. there is a drain tube at the rear of the unit the has a "drain loop" it gets plugged after a few years. try and remove the tube from the clamp, and run water thru it to clear the blockage. you will also need to remove the ice from under the freezer coil after you clear the tube. after that the regular defrost cycle will take over and work properly.

Water draining into bottom of freezer and freezing.

Your freezer has a drain that leads to the exterior drain pan beneath the unit. Occasionally this drain can become clogged resulting in standing water inside your freezer, due to line freeze over. In the freezer, standing water will become ice and may result in defrost problems or inadequate coldness.

You will need to Clear the drain by forcing a solution of water and bleach or water and baking soda into the drain line with a basting syringe. If the solution will not flow through, slide a length of ¼ inch flexible tubing into the drain tube to push the clog through to the drain pan. Remove the tubing after clearing the clog. This will correct the issue.

AMANA FRIG MODEL TJ18MW KEEPS FREEZING INSIDE THE EVAPORATOR DRIP TRAY. HAS NEW DEFROST TIMER AND DRAIN TUBE HAS BEEN CLEANED SEVERAL TIMES. POUR WARM WATER DOWN THE DRAIN TUBE AND IT FLOWS

Thats an old problem,Haven't seen one of those in a long time. The Styrofoam block that sits between the refrigerator and freezer has become saturated with moisture which is freezing around the drain tube and causing the drain tube to freeze up.You can either replace the block part number R156842  $80 if it's still available,or you can cut a piece of solid copper wire no insulation, wrap it around the heater(the black rod that runs anlong the bottom)a couple times and then run the other end down into the drain tube to transfer some heat into it to keep it open,it's an old trick but it works perfectly, just don't run the wire all the way through the drain.only through the middle carefull to keep it away from the plastic tube.

Clarkk I have seen this many times. Your drain is clogged. If you pull the drawers out and pull the top cover you will see the evap. On the cover you will find a nozzle that goes to the drain. Use some compressed air and blow out the drain. In some cases there will be some silicone that will need replaced. You can get a food grade silcone sealant at a hardware store. Hope this helps.

Subzero 550 water drain in refrigerator section backs up

The problem is that the water freezes in the drain, either because the door is not sealing good, it's open too often or there is mold in the catching tray and tube. Best solution is to take a turkey baster (pump), disconnect the flexible tube from the tray, by pulling down, take a large cup with very hot water mixed with a spoon or 2 of Clorox, fill the baster with that mixture and pump it on the drain tube. You have to do it several times, water will come out, but do it until you hear a "woosh" sound and the water goes freely on the drain. Also spill some of that mixture in the tray so it kills the mold.
