Any shorts in the speaker wires or blown speakers (fused speaker coils could cause a short)

Sr576 standby light blinking

Most likely, you have DC Offset(a bad amplifier). The unit is shutting down to protect your speaker system, as well as protect the unit from any further damage. If you require more assistance, or would like to inquire about repairing your Onkyo, please visit my website at audioserviceclinic.com. You may contact me there. Thank you.

Onkyo AV Receiver TX-SR503 While sleeping with earphones connected, the receiver shut down and the standby light blinked. I unplugged the power cord, reconnected power and the receiver shut down...

Have you provided adequate ventilation?
May be your receiver is running hot and when there is loud volume it is obviously getting overloaded. There are no fans inside 674, the only way to provide good ventilation is to keep the top of receiver clear for atleast 6 to 8 inches.

Hope that helps.....

Reciever keeps shutting off!

If your reciever is in a tight enclosed space, than it will overheat and shut down to protect itself. Try to get some ventilation to it by either opening the cabinet door, adding a fan, or pulling it completely out of the enclosed space.

My reciever wont power on but the standby light will come on and when i press power, the stand by light just turns off

It sounds like the output transistors may be putting this into protection mode causing the unit to shut down to avoid further faults. It will need to be serviced.

Enters standby after being on for only a few seconds.

Sounds like either the volume is turned up too loud, or you have a short. Have you tried disconnecting all the speaker leads from the rear, and then powering it on? Usually if it turns on for a short time and then shuts off, it is throwing itself into protection mode.

Reciever just shut down didn't notice the protect word come up due to it being in a audio cabinet, but now the standby light is flashig and the receiver does nothing.

If it was in a cabinet then it probably got too hot. If you listen at a louder volume for a long period then operate it with the doors open.

Unplug it and let it sit and/or hold in the power button until it "clicks."

check your speaker wires make sure they are not shorting against each other down the line, that will cause the reciever to go into standby.

Rx-dp15b reciever turns on, then immediately goes into standby

Just worked on a Sony with a similiar problem. I replaced the Power Amp Drivers. They were labeled as IC's on the circuit board. They were relatively inexprensive, around $33 total. This fixed required knowledge in using a Soldering Iron and Desoldering Wick. Also I had a schematic of the circuit board which can be purchased on the internet. Hope this works for you. It might be best to just have a tech look at it, if you have no electronics knowledge.

Blinking Standby

regarding the Pioneer VSX-912 blinking standby light. This is how you reset it; press the "advanced surround" and the " enter" at the same time for about 3 seconds. Make sure you press the ENTER on the reciever (its the one on top next to the small dial) If you press the "ON" instead of "ENTER" it will not work. If an error message comes on and shuts the unit down, just reset it again. This should save you some $$$$. To bad Pioneer did't put this info in the manual.
