AUDIO gear usually does this when there is a major fault in the power amp section. Unless you are a qualified repair tech, you should have it repaired by a service tech.

Sherwood AX-4103 amp keeps clicking

Hello there.... Check your speaker wires and then if that doesn't do it? try replacing the fuses on the back of the amp.. make sure power is turned off and unplugged. If that doesn't work? Try one speaker at a time ... something is causing the system to short out. Hopefully it is not internally

Is there any way to get Zone 2 to take the same source as Maine 1? My Zone 2 does not paly anything from cbl/sat even if zone 1 is on tuner

What kind of signal are you using for the cable/sat? Most receivers cannot use a digital input (optical, hmdi) to output a signal to zone 2. You may have to make an analog connection to get it to work.

My sherwood r525 only plays preamp and i was wondering how to fix it

I have the manual for the Sherwood R-925 and I think they might be simlar in design. It's says for this problem check transistors Q215 and Q216 on the AMP302 board.
Of course you will have to determine if this can help solve your problem. I think the model you have is just the dolby surround model and the 925 the dolby digital, but they look nearly the same I think!

Tuner shuts off as soon as i turn it on (sherwood xr-4109)

Check the speaker wiring in the back. Make sure it is not wired improperly.

You could remove the speaker wiring from the back of the amp and see if it still shuts off after turning it on.

If it still shuts off after the wiring is removed, it is a problem with the amp itself.

If it remains on after the wiring is removed, then I'd say you have a problem with the speaker wiring or the speakers themselves. It still could be a problem with the amp in this case though... just a problem when it is trying to put power to the speakers.

Sherwood model RV 5050r - tuner is not holding radio frequencys in memory when the main switch is turned OFF and ON again. Is there a battery that needs replacing or a chip?

Try looking for one of these Memory Retention Capacitors, they cause a lot of trouble like that. It will be in the tuner section somewhere if it uses one. It could look a bit different to this one, so bare that in mind.

Power no sound to audio reciver

According to the service manual. If the Power Indicator Light works and no there's no sound, then: (A) Trasistor Q215L/R or Q216L/R on the AMP302 Board is faulty.
(B) Pulled out of correct speaker switch.

The transistors you can look up the price on the net, it says they are: BKTC3200.

FM Tuner in Sherwood RX-4105 stopped working

Check your antenna connections. Make sure your FM antenna is hooked up to the FM antenna terminal or jack on your Sherwood receiver. If you have the antenna hooked through the coaxial cable, check your coaxial cable with an ohmmeter for continuity. You can buy a volt-ohm meter as little as $12. Usually bad connection occur between coaxial cable and the the coax cable connectors. If that doesn't solve the problem, then there may be something wrong with your tuner card inside of your Sherwood receiver.

If you receivers display does not change channels or frequencies or AM or FM mode, when you try to change the channel or frequencies, or AM or FM mode, there may be something wrong with the front board of your receiver.

If there is something internally wrong your Sherwood receiver, you need to take it to a qualified technician that can fix it. Do not try to repair it yourself. If you don't know what you're doing, you can do far more damage to that Sherwood receiver to the point that would be very costly to repair.

Before you take your Sherwood receiver to a technician, try to unplug the receiver, and leave it unplugged for several minutes, and then plug it back in. If that doesn't solve the problem, then you need to take your Sherwood to a qualified technician.

Sherwood R 525 memory loss

Same thing happened on my R-925RDS. The memory backup capacitor in this case is C322 on the front panel PCB, over on the far left hand side by the mains power button.

In the case of the 925 it's a 0.047F 5.5V capacitor, a small black block approx. 10mm high with 10x5mm footprint. In the service manual it's referred to as 0.047uF, but this is incorrect. Replaced it with a 0.1F 5.5V memory back up capacitor, all's well.

If replacing the capacitor, BE CAREFUL where you mount it! Putting a standard (round) backup capacitor in the exact location of the old one may bring it very close to the mains switch. What I did instead was mount mine about 2 inches closer to the centre of the board, using double-sided tape, and ran wires back to its connection points.
