Question about Kenmore 17459 Free-standing Dishwasher

Hi, my dishwasher stopped heating the water so we have a replacement element fitted but the problem still persists, what could be the problem?

If the dishwasher completes the cycle but does not heat the water then it is likely the thermostat is the problem. (since you say you have fixed the heater).

If cycle is not completed and water remains at the bottom and the water is not heating then the controller may have had it.

If you can provide the full model no. of the kenmore dishwasher then I can help locate the parts and their location. Should be something like 665.17459 etc.

Dishwasher stopped heating. PCB is fine with no signs of damage. Is there a resettable thermostat or is it a bung water heater?

Have a Hotpoint dishwasher DWF33. Supplied with cold water supply from mains. My problem is that water is not heating during operation. Regards, Stephen.

Dishwasher won't dry.


run it and open it after the drying cycle right away. what you should be looking for is heat. you will see a metal rod going around the bottom of the dishwasher in a square shape either that has stopped working or the circuit shorted out some where, people don't usually know this but dishwashers use only cold water they use that element to heat the water.

Water not hot enough. Supply water is plenty hot but washing water is not hot.

HI. this is actually a control issue. your element is ok. replace the control board or timer module asap.
