So are you telling me that I will need to get the help from a Toshiba shop to fix the problem? Is it your professional opinion that I will need to replace the laptop or does that model laptop only need a replacement of the VGA port?

Re: Toshiba Tecra A7 Laptop-faulty vga port
No, most any pc repair shop could replace Ur port. The complexity of taling a laptop apart is usually detailed. I repair my own, but keep in mind there are many different size screws and small parts in a laptop. Sometimes the cost of having a laptop repaired is not worth getting a more updated laptop. This technology moves fast.

Hi there if ur looking to connect ur PC to ur TV u must have one or two things an HDMI cable and an HDMI port on ur PC or a VGA cable and port on the TV and PC depending on the two it will be easy both ways however if preferred HDMI is the way to go due to audio is also carried over HDMI as well the video
Either the VGA cable (cable from your monitor to computer) or VGA port on your computer is faulty. Try connecting another monitor to your computer to determine the problem. If the other monitor works, then your VGA cable is faulty. If the other monitor doesn't work, the VGA port is faulty. Hope that helps.
normally toshiba tecra has 2 type of switches for the wireless radio.
One will be the normal switch, which I think you can see it mounted on, either on the side or the front of the laptop, another switch will be the function key on the keyboard, which require you to press the "fn" key. Check your keyboard for a wifi symbol which normally a tower with a radio wave.
Hope this help, come back if you still have the same problem, or other problem.
Your rate for my solution is much appreciated. thanks.
the charging port may be bad or the power adapter is bad so what i think u should try is get a different power adapter and connect to yr system n may be use ur own adapter on a diff system with the same voltage rating and see if it works so u can really tell where the actual fault is.
